New quests that get you ready for Diablo 3
Fix the lag
Higher resolutions...800x600 was behind when Lod came out
Bigger stash and inventory
Extra boss or 2 with a few new special enemies
New set and unique items
Could be a few other things they could do but these are the key things that I really want to see happen that could really spark my interest with Diablo 2 again.
Diablo 2 was one of the best and most addictive games I have ever played. But I have moved on, it's been many years now since I played it. I can't help but feel that this Diablo 2 patch thing is more a try to get fans to think of something else than Diablo 3, which is a lot further away than originally anticipated.
I don't think so. Blizzard knew perfectly well what they did when they announced Diablo 3, and they know perfectly well what they do now as well. I just think this is their way of preparing the playerbase (read: the world) for the new Diablo.
Random quests
---------------------
After completing a difficulty, NPC's will give infinite random quests. When a quest is completed, the questgiver will award you with a random item, a skillpoint or a statpoint, and a new NPC will have another quest ready. A quest can for instance be to kill 1000 deamons or bring the questgiver the heads of 10 unique monsters.

Actually, WoW does not have repeatable quests with random boss mobs (as far as I know). And the item rewards for soloable quests in WoW are almost exclusively crappy, and not random, which is surprisingly unexciting.
What he's suggesting was done in Mythos at one point, and I liked it there.
It would be nice, as a result, to see the neglected dead end dungeons get a few new bosses who are worth killing.
To be honest, I haven't played much at all since the release of 1.10. But looking for D3 information on BNet forums ran across the 1.13 thread...
The top 3 that I've seen, and I liked...
1. Being able to Respec. This one is undoubtedly my favorite, hopes it would trickle to single player.
2. Shared Stashes between account.
3. Bigger Stash.
[Edit] Sorry did not see the main thread, my apologies... Don't wish to clutter.
I don't like the idea of a shared stash.. that would redefine the whole gameplay experience ... trying to decide what small number of items you want to keep. If they somehow destroy the duping glitches i will be happy. And of course if they throw in a quest or two that tie in with the d3 story line or something.
Think i'm gonna have to dust of the cd and log on to my d2 account again...... btw whens this patch come out?

I don't see a point in all of you long-retired Diablo II players suggesting anti-cheating measures since you probably won't play for any length of time if it was gone. Secondly, I've seen maybe two Baal bots in the last couple months since the mass bannings and have yet to come across one duped anything this whole ladder. But I'm sure you'll all go out of your way to lie and refute me, so I'll discard that last though while making it known to everyone else that will likely flame me for it.
In any case, with cheating and botting being at an all-time low on the player end, I'd much prefer an actually content update, like additional quests, followed by fixing the spam bots (this is different than "botting" for anyone that's about to point that out- botting in Diablo II is using a third-party program to run MF runs or XP runs) and following that, fixing some character balancing issues. The questing and spam bots, though, are at the top of the list. However, it would be nice if they could fix the spam bots while improving channel moderation, or many, many clans are going to be highly dissappointed, as well as me, since Blizzard created the need for channel moderating bots through their lack of moderation support for channels in the first place.
*Readies flame-retardent suit.*
i could be considered long time retired.. it's been about 2 years since i played daily for more than 3 months
but i've been back every 4-6 months and i play until i can't take the cheats anymore.. and can't bare to log in.
when your every goal in playing is diminished by other people's ability to achieve the same things with much less effort due to cheats it just drains the fun out of playing.
yes i can play (1-3 months) for the sheer fun of playing but then long term goals emerge and those are the ones that exist on such a unfair playing field.
not to mention that you feel like something that is so dear to you.. in my case it's my favorite game.. is so corrupted that it's just painful to witness.
so whatever.. i would never NEVER have stopped playing d2 if they kept on top of the cheats and hacks.
and it might even be hard to drag me away from d2 to play d3 if they fixed those problems now.
i've played on and off for 9 years (6 of those being obessively on) ..when you say you've "done it all" i'm sure you haven't. there's always new things to try and new goals to pursue.. even if it's just with a new ladder or new people
also maybe where you play cheating is low, but i'd venture to guess it's just because of a low amount of people playing total. if you don't think new content won't lure all those cheaters back to play (even for a short time) you're kidding yourself.
just with 1.12 with No new content and just the ladder reset i saw about 3/4 of the people i knew from earlier seasons return.
(btw if you're curious to see what a cheater infested community looks like despite a low population, play a day of public games on hardcore uswest)
but anyway everyone's entitled to their opinion and i'm sure you've had your say in that thread as i've had mine. so it's up to them on how they weigh them
edit: also if you consider the impact of this d2 patch in regard to d3..
with so many macros and cheating programs for d2, wow (any popular online games) ..along with g15 keyboards etc.. it seems almost impossible for anyone to make a level playing field anymore.
however, i think a level playing field is critical for d3 and they should start the attempt with a level playing field on d2.

OH. How about a mode BEYOND hell mode in terms of difficulty? It could be termed "Chaos" mode or something, where the monsters are so difficult it just engenders this feeling of "chaos". It would be so difficult that elite items such as enigma/tal's set/etc. are reduced to being "normal" in this level. This would be even more conducive to cooperative play than the three current difficulty modes, since even hell mode is beaten within a week of a ladder reset. Cooperative play is also an aspect I enjoyed greatly when I used to play (about 7 years ago). Since this "chaos" mode would be really difficult though, maybe this is where the other suggestions for increasing the high-level rune drop rates could take place, in addition to that of other elite items (albeit slightly though). It would make sense.

omg this would be my DREAM.
WTF??? That is insane. If they did that, I would most definently try to achieve a high score.
Any new "harder" mode would eventually just become the new Hell mode- that's just how it works. People always find just the right gear/character/skill combination, especially after how long Diablo II has been going. Or at least that's my opinion. Good thinking, though
I wonder if 1.13 is coming with another ladder reset...? They did do a few patches without resets. Then again, it'll be a year come spring since the last one. Maybe they're going to try to get back to the "reset-per-year" idea.
Even though I like the idea and stuff... this literaly translates to "Hey let's give them something else because Diablo III is far from coming to reality (this soon)"
I agreed with the people to get rid of teleport and bring it back to the older days!

Have they fixed the Amazon skill Fend yet? Out of all the things I could focus on to have fixed........but I havent played in like 2-3 years. Just as long as there is new content...like in Act 4...etc....its the only thing that would bring me back to play.
