I think this idea is only viable if the FLY skill also comes with the BLUNDERBUS skill, allowing you to shoot "light shot" at your enemies from above. This will of course be leveled up to be a walking mechanical turkey, and a modern SAW rifle.

Are you talking about Diablo 2? and whats a "ravine" ?
Lol. That is extremely easy. Just make a if/then/else (no idea how to do it though) to check if the leaving unit is a hero. I'm pretty sure that it is simple as I can do it in 2 minutes in Wc3 gui/script (it will then apply for any hero).

Wc3 any hero in "air" are really on the ground, only animation appears in the air.
It's can be the same for d3 but as I said before I don't want see a character blocked by an invisible wall !!
Is not necessarily an invisible walk, if you make the flying a skill, that consumes energy, then the hero won't be able to fly that far and wil just fall and die if he dares to go far away from the ground...

I don't think suicide will be allowed in d3... I'm pretty sure of it...
besides, what about the barb's leap... if you leap in the border direction something has to stop you right?
If you click outside the map you just don't trigger the skill (like in d2 if you try to jump out the line)
I think i saw in some game (can't remember) that they solved the problem with an invisible wall, but to make things less... solid, the wall was like elastic... so you could move a few inches away from the border, but no that much, and if you fell then you landed softly in the border...

Seriously Emil, let's say that we don't want see a flying class in d3 lol. What is bring if you can be attacked when you flying over monsters and you flying at the same speed as walking. So why putting this exagerate idea in the game ?? for fun ??? Blizzard will never implement something for fun, only if it's bring a new gameplay taste, but a new gameplay for flying is a little bit too unfair and will be unbalanced compared to others class...
