Sorry this is already discussed guys (this is my first thread) Yes, I know it sounds corny, but for a while now I have been really hoping to see a hero class with wings. I suppose the best way to imagine her/him are the harpies in act 5, hovering and not flying too high. The character would be earth bound often; especially inside caves and dungeons, but for speed and defence reasons they could hover a few meters above the ground - at the cost of stamina. I particularly like the combo of a winged warrior coupled with elegant claw class weapons, but this is taken. I reckon the fifth class is ranged, and don't see why a ranged class could not have the ability to fly - thus giving them a greater change to escape. I don't know, just an idea what do you reckon?
The necromancer in D2 hovered above the ground! Once you completed the set that is...
Why shouldn't that be possible in D3? I don't see no reason. Think it would be cool...
But when you mentioned flying...i was only thinking of Neo...
It would be kind of stupid to be able to fly over monsters. Why not fly over the monsters and spread some salt+chilli powder into their eyes when they are looking up at you, while we are at it.
However hovering above the ground with an increased movement speed due to that can add to an interesting gameplay with the said character.

yeah, and that would be the basic mechanic. you'd never really fly out of reach unless it was a special move (heavy armor + flying wouldn't really shouldn't allow you to go too far) and stamina wouldn't allow much hang time anyway.

Well, you're right about one thing. It does sound corny.
I guess if we have a character that can deploy wings during combat situations and for some other evasive skill, we would be going- wow...awesome. Blizz is just fantastic. They always surprise us... We would have never thought of that...:P
EDIT- Hey guys, remember barb from D2....Did you know he could actually leap over enemies? LOL........
Can you see how flying may not be that far-fetched after all....
uh, it kinda goes against blizzards philosophy for d3. a class thats primary feature is a flying escape from danger?
barb- o shit a bunch of zombies better just smash through them
winged warrior- o shit a bunch of zombies good thing i can just fly over them.
meh.... i dont see it happening
Why not "Winged warrior - Oh shit a bunch of zombies good thing i can just fly over them AND RAIN DOWN MY ARROWS ON THEIR ASSES"
Im not saying its a good idea. But for one class, the ability to fly would be kinda nice if its a skill and its balanced and all. I dont like the wings idea though.
I think this idea is only viable if the FLY skill also comes with the BLUNDERBUS skill, allowing you to shoot "light shot" at your enemies from above. This will of course be leveled up to be a walking mechanical turkey, and a modern SAW rifle.
How about a human-demon hybrid:P Am sure blizz could cook up some nice story for him/her:cool:
Wait, why human demon? Humans are already a mix between Angel/Demon. Sure there could be some interesting story, but it still doesn't fit Diablo.
The first 2 games were only humans searching out the Prime Evils, I don't see that changing.
I do like the idea of a ground based hero pulling some Anime style aerial combat. Preferably a ranged class, so as to take the best advantage of the skill.
Bring too many bugs... collision for many things like objects and any sets... outside the limit of the level... you fly ? you'll passe out of the level... ??

Siaynoq's Playthroughs
Not good for newbs.......... They will still always newb if they never got exp....
I see few reasons to doesn't implement that, but I see no reason to implement it...
Sorry won't happen!

I like it. Keep up the good work.
Anyway.
A flying skill could likely be the mobility skill of the 5th class.
The barb leaps. The wiz tele's. The WD spirit walks (right?). The monk has some kind of a teleport too.
Why wouldnt the 5th class have a flight skill? It will be like leap but you could probably change 1 or 2 directions while mid air, and then landing.

How to reporte again the release date...
Each objects having a collision on the gound.. I don't think they put collision on the air too...
We will see the character unable to flying through an invisible wall (level limit) eurk
