Yea i tend to get my hopes up and then BAM!! nothing happens and i get sad/depressed, ahhh thats going to be whats going to happen with D3. If it does come out in 2011 or late 2010 which to me is too long to wait, then i will have lost interest in it. Though im still going to buy it i just wont enjoy it as much.

Huntum sea monster wif sharp stik. Good aim. use bow and arrow wif rope to use drag and knife technique. Makeum healthy paste from water plant. Useum shell and bone from dead sea monster for armor. Commandum the power of the sea. Makeum and sail ship for faster travel. Swimum and dive under water hold bref for long time. Commandum sea creature when near water. Findum treasures better than other. Sniffum enemy wif good smeller. Catchum fish for eat and feel good. Fire monster run in fear.
That's excessively focused on water, and I'm not sure if that's a joke.
But, I do like the idea of having a character who used to be a sailor. Problem is, I don't know what his skill trees would look like, and marksmanship wouldn't be one of them.
Samurais and other mounted warriors are known for being as well trained with bows as swords. However, I think we've got our oriental classes fairly well covered (Wizards oriental in ethnicity, Monk a hybrid of things). Then again, what's wrong with more Asian? Asia is a bloody big place.
Problem with samurais specifically is I think they'd end up too similar to the Monk in the fast but weak melee DPS theme.
So I think the rogue/thief or amazon angles are more likely.
Problem with rogue/thief: I don't think stealth works well at ALL in the Diablo style hack and slash gameplay. So really it'd have to be a ranger or assassin or something along those lines

Well the Monk isn't weak in melee DPS. Why do people even think that?! He's in contrast to the Barbarian only because of his Low HP and Defense. But in terms of damage, the monk owns against mobs. Oh I'm not mad, just like.. I see/hear it often. If anyone's seen or read info from Blizzcon, they state there that he's only in contrast to the Barb through def and hp. But really is powerful in terms of attack.

Something that can switch between ranged and melee combat (without losing too much power like in D2) is most likely imo.
And why not doing like with the Barbarian, letting the build decide the choise of weapon. You can go bow/crossbow for full ranged, throwing weapons (javelin, throwing knives/axes) for a melee/range mix, or daggers/spears for full melee.
Anyone noticed though that they kept the "1/2" weapon slots? Meaning you can switch quickly between 2 weapon sets you have equipped on?
The character classes now though have melee/ranged attacks. Plus it would depend on the trees you go into. Seeing as, from what I know, every class except the WitchDoctor has at least 2 weapon types. The Monk Claws/Spear/Stave, Barbarian All basic melee weapons, Wizard Orbs/Staffs. The Witchdoctor only uses a Wand, I don't know if he uses anything else than that. The Monk may have skills only for Claws while he may have skills that require the spear/stave. I can't say for sure though, but some of his animations use the stave on his back but then he also uses his claws/fist weapons. As for the Wizard it was mentioned they use Orbs, but you can also see the male wizard using a staff. The Barbarian is given.
Okay, but my point being is : almost every class would require 2 weapon sets and they all have melee and ranged abilities or abilities to get them closer to ranged opponents.
