I believe that the only scary/evil looking class will be the witch doctor with his zombie and spirit abilities. My best bet on the new class would be a skillful but furtive class covered in mystery. Either that or a fearsome FISHERMAN!! with his awesome fishing abilities. Master of javelins and ropes He can summon ships and even tsunamis!

Fisherman Class
Call Me Ishmael - Summons the ghost of a long dead first mate to protect the fisherman. Ishmael bestows his blessing only upon those undertaking dangerous, and suicidal missions.
I think the fisherman has potential ^^.
Back on topic though, I actually suggested a somewhat similar class a while back, albiet with more thought put into it, but still kindof similar. Didn't get much discussion going...
I definitely think a demonic wizard would be great for this game, as you put it, a rogue cultist simply trying to gain power over demons. He could be fighting for the wrong reasons, but still fighting nonetheless.
