inDiablo.de:
Will Monsters be able to use the same Skills as the characters? Like curses, spells or attacks?
Jay Wilson:
Generally not. I mean, we make a few exceptions here and there. Some skills - like for example a magical energy blast or things like that - might so similar... like a fire arrow, if there were someone to use a bow to shoot magical arrows, he might shoot fire arrows. Something like that. But for the most part we tend to design playerskills for players and monsterskills for monsters.
of course its confirmed that their will be a ranged class ( Also a mage class ) , diablo cant be diablo without a melee character , Ranged character and a Mage Character. Play diablo..1 ,
It's fucking obvious that Diablo will have a character using bows. Not having one would be idiotic.
Uh, dude, every class in D2 (and almost positive with D1 as well - been too long since I've played it) could use a bow. That doesn't at all mean that there will be an amazon equivalent this time around - just that you'll have characters that can use bows.

I agree (Except the 'confirm' part because it simply isn't confirmed) although, technically, all classes can equip a bow if they like, there had to be a class that expertises in bows. I bet on a Hunter or maybe a 'count'/'countess' kind of class that connects holy powers with bow attacks (if the paladin was a Holy Fighter, then this would be a Holy Archer). Just a guess... could be cool
Yeah, if you had to really steriotype and pick the 3 remaining classes from a hat it would likely be a ranger type class, a healer type class and a mage type class. Obviously Blizzard will put a cool spin on this and make them unique and specalised, but I predict this will be the general concept.
I'd like to see a ranged glass that was good at bows but also had improvements to the other ranged items that were crappy and/or never used (crossbows, throwing weapons, throwing potions etc...)
If they don't have a class that has a bow preference over the other classes then they would be dumb. They tend to put a class that is better to use certain types of weapons over the other class.. I'm sure there will be some sort of ranged weapon user.
It just occurred to me that they might as well make new classes related to other weapons that were never used before by specific class. For example (From Diablo 2): Scythes, Spears (not javalins), Knives, flails...

Have you played Diablo before dude? No healer classes. And a Mage class has already been announced.
Is there any lore to support something similar to the rogue in D1 coming from the south west. Save for the monestary rogues, like a thieves guild or something mentionable?

What? I had many scythe and lance barbs, though barbs use all kinds of weapons..
as far as we know there could still be no use of bows. perhaps the bow that dropped in the game play video is equip able to your lackeys only. we know jack squat for sure so there XD

Yeah maybe.. but it would be kinda weird for a medieval like times for not having any ranged weapon user

not...
But that is interesting.
The hired underlings shown in the gameplay video shot arrows though.

I don't think this confirms a ranger class but one might be in D3.

Me too! Glass arrows FTW! lol
I loved using Windforce and Laying of Hands.
