unwritten law, thats really too much. The possibility of having a character thats even "only" %99 human is slim. How i see the OPs idea as possible, is something like maybe demons having "interacted" with humans somewhere causing some of them getting demonic abilities. Not openly half demon or something.
We know for sure that D3 wont have anything openly inhumane as a playable character, but the core idea of a person with demon influence or anything like that opens so many nice and unique class possibilities that i dont want to just say "hell no to angels/demons as a class".
BTW those light/dark items thing was just a rumor before D3 even got announced, not? You can forget about those i think.
i see what you mean. the whole light/dark items is still somewhat of a possibility as item types that dont have any particular effect except changing your image. its like the edited black and white items from D2: sure most of them were hacked items, but they did make your character look cool.
as for something new and unique... i find it a little hard since most ideas for a fantasy rpg have been though up, atleast ones that could apply to the world of diablo without being ludicrous.
the only thing they can do is new skills really.
i have an idea for the warrior, although to make it 'new' you would have to change the name.
he would have skills for making and repairing his own items (like in d1) but with some other new skills like pioneering that helps with exploration and finding items (also MF% etc.) setting traps... hell you could have him find a way to control demons and call this character a "hunter" if you wanted. too busy to explain more, my 2 cents.

I say no to the demon idea, diablo is all about HUMANS kicking ass, not beasts plus all of the classes are inheritantly good. A demon would never help the good unless to manipulate them for his/her own ends. But an entirly new idea might be a martial artist close to the assassin but with a focus on telekenisis. There-for combing fighting with telekinisis. Also that character might be more attuned to enemys weaknesses so like pressure points or maybe paralysis attacks. Confusion attacks, sum sort of getting threw armor attacks.

The wizard storyline as I see it so far, is all about her wanting to further her own understandings of a certain magic. She didn't want to be told what to do so is venturing off doing her "own" thing, in other words pursuing her own selfish ambitions.
Also, the Necro was into some pretty dark shit. I have a hard time believing he's the town favorite goodie goodie, to whom everyone sends their kids to have babysat.
I think the characters from the game are not just some selfless being determined to save everyone, but they see themselves as the ones who can/are willing to try and do something about defeating the evil present.
What's wrong with a demon going against evil in order to satisfy his own ambitions? As long as it bodes well for humanity, I'd let something like a demon turned against his kind, go fight Diablo for me.

He arrives precisely when he means to."

give me a super agile but fragile character. devestating close combat melee/short range character. make it so it doesnt play like other classes. make it so survival is defendant on the user's ability to string together combos/skills to defeat enemies (kinda like the assassin). imagine having skills for backflips, rolls, jumps, leg sweeps, quick dagger throws... kinda like a gymnist.
would be cool if like a backflip skill leaves a small shadow in your previous place for a second that the monsters would pay attention to.
would be sweet as hell to chain some nice roundhouse kicks together at a target or two, when the big enemy gets ready to perform a devestating attack do a quick backflip and throw a dagger in his chest.
its one of the best games ever, but anyway. is there really any class that is unexplored?
One of the best games ever? man you gotta be smoking something...its not horrible but FAR from one of the best games ever
Back on topic....were PROBABLY not gonna get anything unique with the new classes....I mean what could they possibly give us that is nothing like some other class in a hack and slash game....theres only so many ways you can make skill deal damage and shit.....but this is blizard who knows what they could pull outta there asses
I personally and i know people are going to go baliistic about this...but i want a ranged gun class....i know "its not part of the lore"
Well possibly. If I recall, and do not quote me, the blacksmith in act v of lod mentions something to the affect of cannons and gun powder. So if memory serves that could be a possibility
