Ic. But WD doesn't resemble a druid in my opinion because druids respect animals and are very spiritual. The WD blow them up and set them on fire, even on the concept art that was newly posted the WD has a snaked nailed down to her staff.
the appearance kinda the way the witch doctor moves and the fact that jay wilson said it haha

i dont mean it in an insulting way by the way im not attacking ur ideas sorry if i came off that way
Something similar to every class is probably going to be in it. They've already used up alot of ideas. I just hope they can think of some new awesome stuff. I don't think the druid was crappy enough to get remade. I wouldn't fight the idea a similar class going in the game, but I probably wouldn't play it.
a ranged class (hopefully not an elf because i will boycot the stupid game if it is)
The only race of people in Sanctuary is human, so you don't have to worry about anything (and arguably the Sabrecats, but they reverted to animals in Diablo II)
The question in the topic is quite useless.. at least if you think the D3 not the possible expansions. Didn't they already say that Barbarian will be the only returning playable class?
The barbarian is the only returning class.........so with that said the wizard and WD are basically the spiritual successors to the sorc and necro respectively.....so your probably going to see some successor to the druid somewhere along the line...this kinda stuff has been discussed to death lol is there any need for more of it at this point?
druid has a lot of potential. Just to make few changes, work him out a little bit and we got powerful malee shapeshifting character...it could be good. but don't look at me, I don't work in blizzard.
i would love if the druid came back, he was my personal favorite!

well they did indeed say the barb was the only returning class but the wizard is just like the sorceress only revamped, if you look at the skill tree there are quite a few sorc skills in there.. so i do hope they have a revamped druid character that retains the shapeshift talent tree/skills.

Druid never hit the spot here - but how about a Shaman? Could be close to the druids elemental skill and maybe also some sorta summoning skills embedded. But shapeshifting? Why? Just add lycantrophy to the game in wolf or pig or bear form and we can all have fun killing them instead
Pig form?
That would be hilarious

I personally think the shapeshifting is really one of the few things that still stands out enough to be reused on one of the last two D3 classes. Although if a new class uses it, the Druid is doomed as a returning character in future expansions, because I don't think they'd bring back a character that has a whole skilltree that's almost a copy of another class. So either we get a new class with shapeshift, or we get the Druid back in an expansion, probably.
yeah man you're right about that but im sure that they would make it badass enough so that there wouldn't be any need for him returning. it would just be the witch-doctor/wizard style, which i like.
I wouldn't mind seeing a character with similar skills returning. I think they could have done a better job on the druid in D2 so maybe if they improved shapeshifting or something.

"A wizard is never late Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early.
He arrives precisely when he means to."
"Losers always whine about their best, winners go home and Fvck the prom queen."
I feel like the earth element should be better explored in Diablo III. The Druid could use earth-based spells, but the ones he actually had (like Molten Boulder and Volcano) seemed more fire to me than earth. I would have liked to see more earth/plant spells.
Yeah I know they won't bring back the "Druid" as a class. I just meant something similar with shapeshifting skills, and maybe summons like the Druids. They could improve those types of skills. Kind of like they did with the Mongrels or whatever that the WD summons, those are cool and look to be an improvement over the wolves the druid summoned.

Agreed.

They could of done a better job on all the classes....most only had a few decent skills and most had completely useless trees even for both pvp and pvm
The barb is the only returning character. Why do poeple keep talking about other chars returning.
I think the WD is nature-oriented enaugh. But thats just an opinion i guess.
Theres lots of ways to make him unique actually. More shapeshifting, earth type spells...
taken from some interview i copy/pasted awhile ago..
1UP: Again, as a Diablo fan, I'll just say that I was a "Hammerdin" (hammer-focused Paladin) in Diablo II, and was a bit sad that you showed other classes instead. Can you talk about how the team arrived at showcasing the Barbarian and the Witch Doctor? RP: Just lots of arguing and debating until we decided. The Barbarian was the easy one for us,because he's one of the few classes that's coming over into the new game, and we thought that'd be a great opportunity to really show people what's new about Diablo III through the lens of a class that people have already played. So you can really see what's different about the game through just watching the Barbarian. We also wanted to show something new, and we argued quite a bit about which class to focus on and show to the public. The Witch Doctor won out.
but eh ya know.. theres been times where they've said it is the only returning character or like in this interview.. so theres no guarantee. i think what he might have meant is that the chars who are back in the game but may just have a skill upgrade/look etc.. etc.. wizard has many old sorc skills that are prob just refurbished.

Ever play a nado druid? They were one of the best duelers in D2 and awesome for PVM.....unfortunately that was there only useful build
