Well, I'm not sure you'll convince anyone he should come back just because he was your favorite. I never felt that strongly about the Druid so I wouldn't feel at a loss if he didn't return. And we at least know for sure he won't appear in anything short of an expansion to Diablo 3.
The Druid was the Barbarian's cousin. (Speaking of the Druid tribes are from the same main tribe that the Barbarian tribes were from.)
Remember, Bul-Kathos (That's the ancient king of the Barbarians) had a brother named Fiacla-Géar. Bul-Kathos believed the best way to defend the world stone was physical strength, and Fiacla-Géar believed that the best way to defend the world stone was spiritual strength. They said there goodbyes and Bul-Kathos taught his group to be super strong, and his group became the Barbarians, while Fiacla-Géar taught his to be spiritually powerful, and his group became the Druids.
I see no reason for the Druids to not make an appearance, lore wise. If the Barbarians, why not the Druids.
Something like him? There are a number of ways to hope something like him comes back. Cause some find him only useful as a Shapeshifter while others prefer an Elemental Druid. Or maybe you'd like something like him in regards to storyline.
I loved shape-shifting, but I wasn't fond of his elemental skills. In any case, if he could be fixed up a little, I think he would make a stellar character. But I'd rather them make a new, equally awesome character than just rehash the Druid.
I love how you can have multiple druids, and some can cast while others can melee.
Personally, the druid was the best character.
(Also, I find it intersting how a few certain people can spout off lore about characters and everyone goes "Wow! That's so cool!" and that crap then other people give information about the lore of characters and it's skipped over like roadkill... Interesting how that works...)
He shouldn't come back. Ever. Ever ever ever. I did like him. People did like him. He could kill just fine. He was a fun character to play. This means he won't come back.
The reason Blizzard is putting the barbarian back in is because he was pathetic compared to the rest, only useful for shouts. Anyone who's played hc will agree with me. The druid was actually pretty damn good.
The druid just can't come back. He was no where near as shit as the barbarian.
Druid never hit the spot here - but how about a Shaman? Could be close to the druids elemental skill and maybe also some sorta summoning skills embedded. But shapeshifting? Why? Just add lycantrophy to the game in wolf or pig or bear form and we can all have fun killing them instead
The terms Shaman and Witch Doctor are nearly synonymous. I don't think I'd like that.
druid comeback probably in the expansion if they decide to go in the starcraft direction, each expansion is a storyline because the druids were not at all mentioned in the lore for diablo 2 expansion unless u talk about act 5 where their kind "was not welcome" in harragoth, to be honest i have no clue what the next two classes are gonna be i dont even have an idea because they said they will be different probably a ranged class (hopefully not an elf because i will boycot the stupid game if it is) and a holy warrior, are my ideas but tahts because they already brought back the sorc and barb, the witchdoctor i see as a mix of the druid and necro so idk but yeah id like to see the druid come back in an expansion just to see him in the lore
Ic. But WD doesn't resemble a druid in my opinion because druids respect animals and are very spiritual. The WD blow them up and set them on fire, even on the concept art that was newly posted the WD has a snaked nailed down to her staff.

A druid/amazon would be pretty cool to.

Anyway, that was a fun lore lesson.

I didn't like druid at all.
RIP: Demon Hunter: lvl 50 | Barb: lvl 60 (plvl 5) | Monk: lvl12 & lvl70 (plvl 200)
It should come back in an expansion, but not vanilla, doing it now would cost several precious months.

I played Druid. I loved it.
But I need a change man.
