Havnt played RPG much so only came across this awesome game just now - but has no one else here played it?! Amazed this never came up as a class suggestion! Feels like perfect fit for diablo
Background: a witcher is a dedicated monster hunter (nuff said), that uses 3 swordstyles (fast, strong, group), alchemy to brew potions (give IAS, bonus vs certain monsters, etc), and 5 basic 'signs' for support magic (blind, knockback, disarm etc)
IMO thats ur 3 skill branches right there. This'd prob fall under "fancy light melee char" category - essentialy what the paladin was. Fits the current paladin-shaped hole nicely.
1. Varied sword skills (replacing zeal etc)
2. Use potions for buffs (would b prety much like auras, esp if can apply potions to whole group simultaneously)
3. Innovative support magic for a melee char, in place of purely offensive skills like FOH & hammer
4. Similar 'righteous' identity, as a monster hunter

"He was so deadly in fact, that his enemies would go blind through over-exposure to pure awesomeness!"
If you didn't find it, then I ain't gonna find it. But I suppose just cause they call it a Witcher class doesn't mean they will have the same ideas for a Witcher class.
Either way, it still doesn't beat my Nymphomancer class idea.
I got that game free with a computer part. I thought the controls in that game sucked and it crashed out of nowhere on me like an hour in. I never tried to play it again. I did like the intro though:)

as a game it was awesome if you could try to ignore the bugs (mostly by saving often you could counter them). Now with the enhanced edition they've done it, the game is almost flawless.
as for a Witcher class, please no. Doesnt suit the Diablo universe at all, especially as a hybrid paladin-ish class.
I like the monster hunter idea mixed with alchemy.
But i disagree with the potion usage for party suport. I think it's nonsanse a person throw a potion in other for healing /buffing. It fits in Ragnarok Online's universe, once its allready nonsense. He could be just a mix of melee and ranged class (Swords + Potions + Xbows) with some special elemental attacks and transformation spells (both yourself or the oponenet).
In in general i liked the idea.
the Witch Doctor will use some sorts of alchemical stuff. Fire Bomb is the skill that comes to mind, we're talking about alchemy mostly, not engineering.

Mine glitched during the 3rd act or chapter or whatever you call it.
Was WAAAAYYYY too complex, too confusing, and pretty much an adults only game (with the prostitutes and all)
As for the class, I'm not sure that a free-lance monster hunter really fits into the main characters role of saving the day from evil

I thought so, as well, but I couldn't find it.
