Name of class suggestion borrowed from D&D. Basically this class is a fighter who uses magic to:
a) enhance his fighting abilities hinder his enemies movement
c) weak AOE damage spells
Can fight well with any weapon types, his spells affect his weapons by adding effects such as fire, lightning etc (I'm sure you guys have thought of way cooler stuff than I can).
Perhaps self buffs as well - increased speed etc..
Spells to hinder opponents such as reduced movement (web/entangle spells), perhaps some weak AOE damage spells, to take out the midgets in a group/weaken the others.
I see this guy with not as many hit points as Barbarian, so he has to rely on a slightly more tactical approach to making sure he doesn't get surrounded by baddies.
Combat scenario:
He hinders some creatures movement, while buffing himself.
Then as the un-hindered monsters get to him first, he flings a weakish fireball into them to weaken them, so they can't damage him as much once they reach him.
Chop them down using spelled up weapons/combat moves.
The hindered monsters have freed themselves and approach him, rinse and repeat.
He's not as cool as the Pirate/Ninja or the multi-flayer Shaman idea, but it could work as a vague template.
I really like this idea, and I think that blizzard is actually going to do something along these lines. This would be my first character. I suggested this sort of type of character earlier, but called it a Crusader. No religious meaning, just thought the name was cool.
