I posted this in the Lore section because I thought that I would get more interesting responses from people that have read the novels or are knowledgeable about the lore of Diablo. If I was wrong to do so, then please relocate this thread!
If you could live in the world of Sanctuary, where in Sanctuary would you reside? What kind of a person would you be? Would you follow a religion? You could be anyone in any time period throughout the history of Sanctuary.
Would you be a follower of Rathma, a worshipper of the dragon Trag'Oul? Dedicated to preserving the delicate balance between life and death?
Maybe you would rather live the life of a Vizjerei sorcerer and summon/control demonic entities in an attempt to gain power?
You could be anyone, from the lowliest drunkard to a wealthy merchant living in Lut Gholein.
Myself, I would like to live the life of a Druid of Scosglen. I would study and follow the Caoi Dúlra way of thinking and commune with nature. I'd hopefully end up being able to summon wolves and rain fire from the skies
I would like to live in Caldeum as I like warm weather. I think I would like to own my own bar tavern, and be the bartender. I would hope to be a wise man people passing through would come to for information, over a drink =). Also I think I would be very corruptable not in demonic ways, but pass along info for $ or give the wrong info for $ just to keep things fun. Gotta pay the bills ya know?
Society was fine for thousands of years before technology.
Computers and machines =/= technology. A rock tied to a stick is a form of technology and to be honest, the only thing that sets humans apart from apes is the advent of technology, otherwise we're just hairless monkeys.
If I was stuck living in Sanctuary I'd probably kill myself because there'd be nothing to do.
Train your sword arm and slay some demons? I'd imagine those drops would be much more welcomed if they meant the difference between decapitating a zombie or being eaten alive.
Although I would love to be a Druid of Scosglen, it would be cool to live the entire life of Lazarus. Sure, I'd have a pretty grim ending but at least I'd play an integral role in the fall of Tristram and experience the perspective of a corrupted villain. I've always loved Lazarus as a character, that's why I use his name as a username a lot of the time. Too bad it's usually taken.
