There are many topics and stories to talk about D3, and my major interest is the story line itself.
Let me start from gathering what I've heard so far about the new story stuff for Diablo Universe.

-Whole basic background story between Heaven and Hell has been established over past years.

-Specific story about beginning of the Sanctuary is told.

-Bunch of interesting stuff from past BlizzCon such as...
Belial and Azmodan's forces will appear. ( Belial frist and Azmodan)
Azmodan is after the "Black Soulstone"
More details about other archangels and heavens
etc...

-Obviously, story we encounter from Beta
( I didn't had chance to play it, waiting for beta keys through giveaway, but watched many play through)
Leah is daughter of Adria (and possibly the wanderer..)
Fallen Star revived Skeleton King (and allow us to slay him once again)
etc..

anyway.. it looks like rest of the Act 1 will be focused in the Fallen Star.

I came up with my own guesses about what could the Fallen Star be...the Black Soulstone.

Once I thought it could be Diablo or other Demons Lords, but it did not really convinced me... and Blizzard has been telling us that Black Soulstone is important key in D3.
Couple of backup thoughts about this..it may sound silly.
-We don't know where the Black Soulstone came from.
-Black Soulstone look very different from that of D2 (soulstones for 3 greater Evil Lords)
-Black Soulstone seems to be very special source of force...(which could cause what we faced in Beta)

...so what do you guys think?

Most likely Tyrael. Maybe I'm being tricked though. The black soulstone has everything to do with the plot, but I think it has little to do with what the flame is. The soulstone is almost certainly created by Zoltun Kulle. You can find out more about him here: //www.diablowiki.com/Zoltun_Kulle">Zoltun_Kulle" class="wiki-link">//www.diablowiki.com/Zoltun_Kulle">Zoltun_Kulle"/> Zoltun_Kulle. He's tied into act 2 in diablo 3, as well as Belial, Lord of Lies. I don't know what exactly belial is up to @Caldeum and if he has any allies. I'm guessing the vision leah has is tied into act 3, most likely the very end of act 2 or beginning of act 3 as azmodan is the boss of act 3/the arreat crater. Act 4 we're fighting against diablo again who apparently has gained control over the stone in the end and is using the heck outa other demons and maybe even angel's power. I have my guesses as to how diablo gets his grimy, meaty fingers on the stone and what's going on with the angels, but they're just guesses, so I'll leave ya with the facts/near facts.

I'd guess the final boss is in it. Someone we haven't heard anything about yet.

I mean, it would be kind of dumb if they just used diablo as the final boss again. But teaming up with diablo to kill a greater threat? Awesome!

As for what fell from the sky...I'd guess Black Soulstone.

And common, it'd be silly if diablo didn't get camera time in diablo. Keep in mind however that in the prophecy it talks about the angiris council basically falling apart and suggests the angels are going to get more involved with the dealings in sanctuary. Besides we get to see a ton of characters that have been kept out of the previous games as the eternal conflict comes closer to a close.

Good theories but the skeleton kings crown brought him back to life again not the fallen star

I think that the fallen star is Tyrael being cast out of heaven trying to locate the black soulstone or proof of its existence he choose where he wanted to land or close to where he wanted to land ( in order to find the last of the Horadrim, Cain) in a rapid escape of the angels he came crashing down into the cathedral. Tyrael did this so that he can see if Cain can help him locate and or learn about the black soulstone before the forces of hell can find it.

I think I remember something about justice in As justice falls upon the world of men. being tied to one of the angels possibly another name of Tyrael ..... maybe hes the angel of justice eh who knows.

And in the end of days = the destruction of the Worldstone allowing the demons of hell to run free
wisdom shall be lost = the will and knowledge of the preventing of hells rise will disappear
As justice falls upon the world of men.= already gave you that one.
Valor shall turn to wrath = some of the angels turn against the light
And hope will be swallowed by despair. = man falling into shadow from the demon overlords
Death at last shall spread its wings over all = Angel of death claiming men and angels and lesser demons
As fate lies shattered forever." = once this comes to pass the future of sanctuary will forever be changed/scared

Knowing this, re-read it again as well as the spoiler in my above post and you'll understand much, much more. Also know that Malthael intends/forsees himself as the sole remaining member of the Angiris_Council or something like that, so he probably just peaces out to start things out, that combined with the lore pannel claiming that Malthael cannot see the future of the Nephalem anyways... followed by tyrael falling upon the world of men, and then work your way from there.

and Worldstone


I think death is referring to a partial Tathemet, seeing as how diablo gets his hands on the black soulstone *or something of similar utility* one way or another because of this:

What remained was a diamond warrior, but the cast off parts assembled themselves into Tathamet, a seven-headed dragon of death and darkness.

Death at last shall spread its wings over all. Some further evidence suggesting this is the case, the Black_Soulstone cinematic.

Everyone says Tyrael but I think it's a fallen angel.

And it will be an act 1 boss.
