There are so many new choices for different bosses, I have my doubts as to wether any of the already defeated would be reused, aside from Diablo of course.
I have no idea about the ignorance and despair thing, but I remember reading somewhere that is life there are only 7 sins and I'm pretty sure lust was one of them. I'm not sure about it. I think I probably heard it from a video game or t.v. show.
Ignorance and Despair aren't in there. I really don't think those can be considered sins though but that has nothing to do with D3 or anything. More a matter of judgement.
EDIT: If you read it describes Sloth's original meaning as "melancholy: apathy, depression, and joylessness " Which is basically despair. Although it goes on to say that it is the refusal to embrace happiness rather than just being depressed.
EDIT2: Also if you continue down it shows what each demon's name is that is associated with each sin. Funny how Lucifer, who is Satan, aka The Devil: El Diablo, is the Demon of Pride o.o And that Satan is another seperate entity.
the 7 sins are Pride, Wrath (Anger) Lust, Gluttony, Greed (Avarice), Sloth and Envy.
Vanity is not one of the 7.
But I do agree some of the 7 most powerful demons in the Diablo universe share something in common with the 7 Sins

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
If you put it that way, there can be thousands of them. You have to understand, the only ones that existed are the ones that spawned from the burning abyss. They weren’t too many…only seven counting the slain ones.

I like the life I lived, because I went from negative to positive.
You know very well who you are, don't let them hold you down, reach for the stars.
Catholic stuff
Seven deadly sins/capital sins/cardinal sins = seven demons represent them
Seven virtues, opposites to the seven deadly sins and im not 100% sure but i think there are "Patron Saints" which represent each virtue
Im not entirely sure if that can be converted over into the World of Sanctuary
In Sanctuary there are seven great evils, three prime and four lesser
Maybe there is seven great Arch Angels
Edit- wow 3 people posted by the time i said this lol
Also I would like to add that Fear doesn't correspond with Pride. Envy isn't necessarily Hatred. Should be Wrath instead of anger(although they are the same thing) Lust and Rashness don't work together. Neither do Vanity and Punishment. Vanity and Pride do though.
Anguish is the same as despair basically depending on which sense you use.. but if you use another sense of the word anguish is the same as pain.. Vanity is the same as pride also if not worse.. I could find more holes in there but I don't want to
Yep: Ignorance: Foolish behavior, Idiocy, Unintelligent, Lacking thought, Rash, Imprudence, Empty, To act or say without proper knowledge, and or consideration. - Shallow.
Regardless, my point is that the villans in the diablo franchise were similar to different sins.
Maybe envious of Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal for being so strong and then the Lord of Envy could kill them by tricking them (as they think he is an ally). I don't know, just an idea that was floating around in my head when I saw that list of yours.

To find the truth, you must risk everything.
