At the end of diablo 2 yea - you never seen Baal soul stone get destoryed (its the yellow one)
The arch angel gets left with it in the world stone chamber when you leave and if I remember correctly thats the end of the game, in memory I dont think there was any more big enemies or the such
Arch Angel + Big Evil Stone of doom = awesome enemy?
Who doesnt get corrupt by evil, seems like a goer for me
With the worldstone destroyed, it 'should' open the gates for both the high heavens and the burning hells to pour into sanctuary, whilst simultaneously removing the power dampening effect from the Nephalem.
Tyrael must have some agenda for helping the Nephalem most probably to gain support for the war, but who knows.
Um... What if Azmodan and Belial were lurking in the shadows during D1 and D2 and then, after the massive battle of our heros vs Baal, they snuck in and grabed Baal's soul stone, sense it doesn't say what happens to it? Of course they hate him, but what if they were to like cast some sort of spell on someone and then use them as Baal's prison? Then they could use him as a puppet, and you would go hunting for Baal again, only to find out Azmodan and Belial were behind it all along?
Read the Sin War trilogy. You will learn alot about the situation of Sanctuary. As for the soulstone, I'd like to think that the hero took the soulstone before he ran into Tyrael's portal.

I seriously don't get this. Why is it always the good guys who become corrupt, and never the bad guys who become good (unless it's a cheesy cartoon)?
If Tyrael can go evil because he grabs a damn stone, then I want Mephisto to fall in love with cute little animals in D3. You hear that Blizzard!?
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
There are hundreds of the same thread, with the same idea. Tyrael is corrupted. Its so obvious and cheesy, I think Blizzard will do something creative, at least I hope so.
yea we have beatin this topic to death...Dont Let Elfen see this thread it might piss him off with how many times he has had to discuss baals soulstone lol
True...I am sure we have been in that debate/discussion so many times now. But there are several newcomers here and I am sure that they would like to discuss it too.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Well, I don't think Arch Angels can be evil, however it wouldn't be far from logical to guess that he might pass JUDGEMENT on mortals, and try to destroy us.

Ok - young ideas here form ages ago

And what about Izual? He was pretty evil.
