This is just another story line... Even though I find it quite good. It's just the first 2 acts for now. If I get good reviews, I'll keep on going.
ACT I : Kurast
You start on a boat. You don't remember anything of what happened in the last years, but you're not amnesiac as you remember your childhood.
When you dock to Kurast, which is re-built and flourishing by then, nobody wants to approach you. As there were no mirrors on the boat, you haven't noticed that
you had a very sheen resamblance with the late Lord of Destruction, Baal. Though you've heard little about the story of the hero who defeated the 3 prime evil and
mysteriously disappeared shortly after. The only person who accepts to talk to you is a middle aged chap who goes by the name of Alrus Cain. You learn from him
that he was schooled in the horadric lore by the famous Deckard Cain. You don't learn what happened to him though. As you sleep around the city of Kurast
(and find Meshif's grave in the graveyard), numerous villagers are murdered. Unfortunately, probably because of your resemblance to Baal, the blame is put on you.
This is where the real fight begins. You must either fight your way out of getting yourself hanged or escape the city towards the Jungle, which is still inhabited by
numerous insects and beasts. You learn from a serie of quests which you start by yourself (Because you are completely autonomous right now, which means you
gotta cradt your own potions and stuff) that earth is not free of evil at all. After spending a while in the jungle, you are captured by a group of somewhat anthro
(animal-mans for the less-gifted people) people. Looks like they're not looking to eat you at all. They heard about your murders (But wait, you didn't do them right?)
and see you as the re-incarnation of Baal. No boss in act 1.
ACT 2 : The Desert
Looks like Lut Gholein's desert isn't it? The diablo word is a small word. But anyway, there's a reason to why we're here. Apparently there was a huge price on your
capture (Both by the human empire and the evil forces). It's hard to understand why these animal people need any money, but who cares. You're in a camp now.
And not any kind of camp, an EVIL camp. You're not sharing shelter with demons here, however. These are humans, like you. An evil cult of evil doers and blah
blah blah. They just want to bring the prime evils back to the earth... because they're crazy. We've seen worse right? They also think you are the re-incarnation of
Baal. But a big meany meany prime evil doesn't bring doom over the world unprepared right? You've got a serie of quests to do (Again), this time on order of the cult
leader, who's name is Elyart. You've never seen him though. After stacking up on goods and levels, you are sent on your final quest. For those who played Diablo II
, it'll seem like a very simple task : Murder Deckard Cain. He's an old crow right? It'll be a piece of cake. WRONG. Looks like our old Mr. Identify-your-items has gotten
really strong. And the problem is that he lives in the now huge city of Lut Gholein. So you take your arsenal (and your arse) to Lut Gholein, kill some piss weak guards
, loot some houses... Untill our old friend from Diablo II come up. That's right, Mr Jerhyn's there. He's well armed and well trained, plus he has a crapload of friends
with him. You kill him, and advance. (That was the end-act boss between).
There he is, Deckard Cain. There's no fighting him however. He's WAY too strong for you... So he just somehow knocks you off. There you go, captive again.
Act 3 : The Basement.
While you are Deckard Cain's prisoner, you hear him talk to some strange people (Including an old sage woman in a purple robe, with a pretty familiar voice)
about some corrupted mage named Tal Rasha. Apparently, he is hiding in the east (...) in the middle of the ocean. Not in the water, on an island : The Grief atoll.
This island bears it's name due to the huge number of people disappearing in it's surroundings. Being the corrupted man you are, you crave the day you will be
able to reach Tal Rasha, who is apparently looking for you. End of the little story cinematic. Cain finds an use to you and asks you to clean his basement. Bring on
the broom! Wait, it's a sword he gives you... As you venture through his huge basement, you fight numerous beasts which look more evil as you go further.
What the hell is cain hiding there? Satan? Anyway, when you reach the end of the basement (Lvl 5 or something), you meet what looks like Tal Rasha himself...
Or a projection of him. Speaking to him, you learn that he is using what little of his magical powers are left of him to communcate with you. Apparently, Cain also became corrupted, and
sent you down there for a reason. He says that during the destruction of the worldstone (Which you've heard of), Tyrael started becoming crazy and kept on
repeating some sort of proffessy : " When the two identicals reach the land, baal will revive in both of them, and as they will grow in potential, the one that shall
survive shall become the succession of evil itself, and that day, it will be the beggining of the end." Shortly after, Tyrael litteraly died (How could he?
He's an archangel!) Tal Rasha also explains you that the only way to reach him is by portal magic. But since the worldstone was destroyed, all magic has
almost disappeared. Only healing magic is left. You must go on a quest to restore the worldstone. To restore it, you must recover The Legendary Azure Wrath.
Rumors has it that it was Buried along with Tyrael, so it would reach even, where no mortal could reach it.
Act IV : The Search for Tyrael
With Cain's help, you manage to escape Lut Gholein during the night. Cain tells you to go east, where you should find mount arreat. You're
not going to find Tyrael's tomb there, but the Arreat Summit, where the Nephalem await (The Ancients from d2). Since the worldstone was destroyed,
there was found a new use for them. They guard the sacred Pandemonium Temple, which is the gateway to heaven. However, you canno't be tested by the ancients
if your soul bears any form of evil. As you are filled with it, you must find a pure soul to salvage yours. However, it'll weaken you. Where can we find a pure soul?
Simple : Harrogath. Deckard Cain also told you that the purest soul he has ever seen was an old healer named Malah. Yep, you gotta kill the Malah we loved so
much in Diablo 2 and steal her soul. As you travel east to harrogath, killing the numerous barbarians you encounter on the trail of mount arreat, you finnaly
reach Harrogath. The worldstone being destroyed, the magical spell that protected the town (The one all elders but Nihlatak sacrificed to cast) has been weakened.
However, it still keeps you from getting any closer. Turns out you can't get Malah's soul. However, you find Qual Khek on the battlefield, (As apparently the minions
are back on the world for some reason) dying. He tells you that when Baal was slain in the Worldstone chamber, Tyrael found Nihlatak's artifact, the one that would
let you go pass the ancients without being tested, and gave it to him for safekeeping. He gives you the artifact, asking you to give it to his son in Harrogath. Being`
the evil ass you are, you take the artifact to the Arreat Summit. However, you get there while somebody is fighting the ancient ones. After the poor chap gets
killed, the ancients notice you. Looks like you'll have to fight and did all this for nothing... Wrong. After killing the ancients (read it right there, I said killing, not defeating)
because the artifact you bear weakens them, you reach the Pandemonium Fortress. Instead of being the good guy going to hell like in Diablo 1, you're the Bad guy
going to heaven. The Ancients were the end-act bosses.
I don't like it. Too many characters from Diablo 2 that get murdered, they were good guys. Good guys aren't actually supposed to be killed by a good player.
Lol. It just turns out to be some poor, ugly motherfucker who got a concussion and forgot a few weeks.
(That'd make it worth watching). At the end he's just like, "Oh... I... I remember! I was, taking a leak and a coconut hit me on the head.... Then I woke up on a boat. Wow. And here I thought I was evil. Oh well, sorry for killing you all!"
You start on a boat. You don't remember anything of what happened in the last years, but you're not amnesiac as you remember your childhood.
When you dock to Kurast, which is re-built and flourishing by then, nobody wants to approach you.
Sounds like the beginning of Morrowind to me. Except people don't mind so much to approach you. Unless you have a disease.
Quote from "Dakilleux" »
As there were no mirrors on the boat, you haven't noticed that
you had a very sheen resamblance with the late Lord of Destruction, Baal.
Possibly your first snag here. Baal could appear as many things. He is the Lord of Hatred. We see him how he is in Diablo 2 because of his symbiosis with Tal Rasha. But by LoD, he appears different from that even because as he is growing in strength and power, he is going through a metamorphosis. But I'll entertain the notion for a bit longer anyway to see where you're going with this.

An interesting idea. This would indicate the basis of this storyline is more character driven rather than plot driven which would be inconsistent with the basis of the previous two games.

I care a little bit. Otherwise, what is there motivation for turning you in? You'll have to suggest another reason why they would do so. By the way this is starting to reek a tad more of Morrowind.
Quote from "Dakilleux" »

And not any kind of camp, an EVIL camp. You're not sharing shelter with demons here, however. These are humans, like you. An evil cult of evil doers and blah

The leader is good, the leader is great. We surrender our will, as of this date. In other words, typical.

Suddenly everything falls apart for me here. You seem to be one of those many Diablo fans who actually overestimate Cain's importance in the Diablo series. He's an endearing character, yes. He assists you with knowledge, yes. But is there truly any logical reason that he would become this super bad ass powerful fighter/mage person? I'm sure in the world of fantasy, it is easy to contrive a reason. But the reason remains at that: a contrivance. Please don't desecrate our memory of Deckard Cain by turning him into some kind of boss you have to fight.

Jerhyn is possibly as inconsequential as Meshif; is it so hard to come up with new characters?

Tal Rasha is defeated. He was first defeated by Baal, then by you, the hero as he was one with Baal. You're just beating his lore into the ground with a cudgel now.
I'm gonna stop here for now. I do appreciate you stepping up to the plate as a new member and showing your dedication to this game. I like some of your ideas, some I don't. Some are rather interesting, others are wholly inappropriate. Maybe I'll get to critiquing your other acts later.
End of the little story cinematic. Cain finds an use to you and asks you to clean his basement. Bring on

Again, I would just drop the whole Tal Rasha thing.

Besides prophecies being somewhat cliche now in so many stories, isn't that a little too specific for a prophecy? Prophecies tend to be more vague than that.

He's an archangel!)
Exactly. How could he? My thoughts exactly.

This is actually close to the effects I imagine with the Worldstone's destruction.

Only healing magic is left. You must go on a quest to restore the worldstone. To restore it, you must recover The Legendary Azure Wrath.
Rumors has it that it was Buried along with Tyrael, so it would reach even, where no mortal could reach it.
I don't think just healing magics would remain. While I do agree that many types of magic would begin to dissipate after the Worldstone's destruction, I don't think it would be down to just healing magic. Besides, there are more than one type of magic that can heal. And how do you reckon the Azure Wrath would restore the Worldstone? I think people should drop the whole rebuilding of the Worldstone idea. It's destroyed. Let some things that are undone remain undone. Otherwise, actions become meaningless. Consequences are never as serious.

Kill Malah? Seriously? Like, she hasn't died of old age yet? Like she's really that pure? Moreso than even the naive and idealistic Larzuk? Your plot is becoming too convoluted without first better establishing the basics. And this is my overall concern with your ideas. You need to better flesh them out and establish more motives, more concrete links between events. These ideas are starting to sound totally non sequitur.
Quote from "Dakilleux" »

If I'm not mistaken, Nihlathak still was essential to casting the Druidic ward. It's merely that all the Elders were slain after erecting the ward because they were ultimately overrun by Baal's demons. Cause the ward wasn't cast inside the city.
Quote from "Dakilleux" »
However, it still keeps you from getting any closer. Turns out you can't get Malah's soul. However, you find Qual Khek on the battlefield, (As apparently the minions

Wow, fella. So many ideas. I do respect your efforts. But I also think you need to pace yourself a little better and take some of these ideas that are working and develop those ones more while getting rid of the ones that don't work so well. At any rate, keep up the good work.
Thanks for the advice. I rarely ever write stories, and I somewhat thought writing a storyline would appeal my over-excitement. I'm going to stop it right there, because if I wanted to all mysteries and mythicism I so desperately tried to create to become clear and solved, we'd never see the end of it. I'm not going to write another story. And frankly, Morrowind is one of the favorite games I ever played. I was influenced by it as you guessed, but I didn't steal ideas volunteerly.

Jerhyn is possibly as inconsequential as Meshif; is it so hard to come up with new characters?
Okay, so I didn't necessarily get to fight him here. But you still turned him into some kind of super magic bad ass. Stop it I say.
Akara? Please.

Besides prophecies being somewhat cliche now in so many stories, isn't that a little too specific for a prophecy? Prophecies tend to be more vague than that.
Exactly. How could he? My thoughts exactly.
This is actually close to the effects I imagine with the Worldstone's destruction.
So I'm confused. Are you saying Cain is evil or not?
Kill Malah?
If I'm not mistaken, Nihlathak still was essential to casting the Druidic ward. It's merely that all the Elders were slain after erecting the ward because they were ultimately overrun by Baal's demons. Cause the ward wasn't cast inside the city.
Wow, fella. So many ideas. I do respect your efforts. But I also think you need to pace yourself a little better and take some of these ideas that are working and develop those ones more while getting rid of the ones that don't work so well. At any rate, keep up the good work.
