I started diablo1 yesterday and just beat it, my warrior owned somehow, diablo was pretty easy i just ran off and let him chace me then smashed him with my axe a bit, only really used 4 pots, anyway..
everyone always goes on about the butcher? i dont remember seeing him in the game, is he in the hellfire expansion or something?
No...sometimes you get the quest for the Butcher in the beginning of the game and sometimes you dont. You would see a half-dead civilian laying down at the entrance to the cathedral for the quest. I noticed it myself way back in the day playing. I would get the quest and sometimes i dont. I dont know if it has anything to do with the tainted well quest in the beginning or not.

ahhk, lol i must of missed a bit of quests lol, i killed king leoric before the towns people even told me too, that flail i got from the weak fallen guy(quest) really helped me
Yea, try playing with a Rogue...they are lots of fun to play with in Diablo I and I am sure you will get the butcher quest this time. Prepare yourself...i had more trouble with the butcher than i did with diablo due to lack of levels and spells since it is in the beginning.

yes i may replay it sometime soon, i just couldnt get off the game lol, i was addicted till i beat it, now for d2 single player just playing the game through for the storyline..
