I'm Scorpy, been a hardcore Diablo fan since the original version I played back on a very old Windows 98 PC back in the day. (As I recall)
Really hyped about the release of the game coming up - I played during the Server Slam, and it definitely sold me enouhg to go ahead and buy the pre-order. Only regret is that I bought the standard version on Xbox and didnt realise that didnt include early access (and it was from a 3rd party seller, so they wont upgrade or refund which is a shame).
In any case, it's only a few extra days to wait, so looking forward to getting back into my Sorcerer and Druid classes as they definitely felt super-OP durig the playtest (in a good way).
Also loving the aesthetic of this game in comparison to D3 as it feels like it harkens back to the days of Diablo 2 where the game was much darker in style and nature and really gritty - as opposed to the more cartoonish feel that D3 has.
Don't get me wrong, I love D3 and always have, but it's refreshing to see the new direction of the upcoming version and I am really keen to see how that progresses.
There is a solid feel of D2 meets Path of Exiles to this version and it feels like (for once in a new game) they have taken most of the really good aspects of those games going forward.
With all these positives, there are still some minor negatives - a few bugs, some wonky control decisions, skills that feel a little lacklustre compared to others, but the negatives really are minor and certainly inconsequential enough not to take much away from how good the game is.
I am holding back on making a decision about the "open world" aspect of the game, as I can see plenty of benefits AND problems that could arise from it, and I feel like this is something that will need further play and testing before making a real decision on how good or bad it is.
Anyway - happy to meet y'all and looking forward to seeing some of you in New New New Tristram... XD
