So if I get the physical copy of D3 from a retailer like best buy or w/e , can i still pre-download the client before hand or do I wait until i have my actual copy?
The installer will be unlocked on the 14th at 8 or 10pm PDT iirc, so if you download it on the 15th it will be installed, patched and ready to play once you validate the game on Battle.net. It's 8gig, to save 15min.

yeah, I'm having the same question/problem as you. I'm not sure if the EU version is ONLY for the EU servers. So I'm going to take a bit of a leap of faith and downloading from lalaurentide's link, and hoping it isn't some huge spywareviruscomputerkiller.
I think the region selection is in the game menu, under account. The enUS should be fine, it's doubtful we'll have to install the american, european and asian client to play in all regions.

This is the english client, these are the different locales
English (US) / English (EU) / English (SG) / Español (EU) / Deutsch / Français / Italiano / Polski / 繁體中文 / 한국어 / Español (AL) / Português (BR)
So if i'm in Canada I should use this one and not the one that is for GB above right?
If you rather have the enGB (EU) client here it is. I can link the installer for any language I pasted above if you prefer a non-english.

@Phatosen - I just check my neighbor's account, you can't download the game unless you prepurchased it.
Not everyone has the started edition on their battle.net account.
