I'm wondering if some of you with experience calculating the numbers for builds might be able to shed some light on what I calculated for my build and be able to discuss its overall feasibility and possible theoretical limitations. I ask as I'm new to creating my own builds and likely could benefit of some of you with more experience
Here are the two relevant links for the build to examine:
833% more dmg output, 12% less toughness. What i did was use Ray of Frost as a channeling skill to proc Energy Twister and Blizzard to auto cast with that Etched Sigil. I also assumed paragon 800, because that is the average level of the player base. Gem level70 augments and level80 gems. I replaced your Gogok of swiftness with Bane of the Stricken.
Sample test:
10 yard radius
20 whites
1 elite
That being said, if you were going for a pure Ray of Frost build. Just "Play your Way."
Adding an extra 350 INT x 13 = 4550 INT, and upping the gems from lvl 60 to 80, hardly seems like a fair comparison of your build compared to mine. You know what I mean?

Nice build! I'm going for it when i finished the journey. Anyway a couple of observings/sugestions:
- ES is kinda unreliable with his auto casts. From playing with it it casts spells prioritizing them by CD; first the ones with longer CD and last the ones without CD. The fact is that if you have multiple no CD spenders equipped then they are cast at random and you don't have control on them - this ties to point below
- Twister Sword is really good. However if you pair ET with another no CD spender and ES, you don't have a reliable way to keep 5 tornadoes spawned at all time until you start manually casting them too. ES works best with a single "spammable spender" and the rest are on CD so you maximize the one you want to spam.
- Imho your build while having great output looks too fragile - though i didn't play it. Maybe it's just me and this can push up to GR90+ :D.
- This said, here's an alternative i have in mind right now to maximize stuff and ET spam http://www.d3planner.com/318469254
I figure it'll work, and some of the pieces could be interchanged to probably make it work for Spectral Blade too. Either way, it's weird seeing the Vyr'Rasha do so well, and yet, LoN be so far behind. Which is supposed to be harder to gear for again?
Since you seem to favor dmg output, try this variant. http://www.d3planner.com/717874743 vs. your http://www.d3planner.com/925751529
Assuming both builds are: Solo w/ Templar equipped with Occulus Ring/Overwhelming Desire, gemmed with an Effcacious Toxin/Iceblink. Leg Gems at 80, 10 stacks Taeguk, 50 stacks Stricken.
Assuming the tests benefit the skills selected. For mine because of Frost Nova/Audacity, in melee 10 yards, spread of 1, 20 white, 1 elite. For you because of Power Hungry and no Frost Nova, at range 35 yards, spread of 1, 20 white, 1 elite.
Your simulated DPS: 2571.450 B vs. my variant's simulated DPS: 4778.769 B.
You end up freezing nearly half of the enemies due to your blizzard, my Frost Nova's end up around 10%. You receive damage reduction if those frozen mobs are within 25 yards from your APD, which seems a wash as your benefiting from Power Hungry. I think you might do better with Audacity as your DPS is roughly the same 2573.311 B under the 10 yard test.
In which case considering the dmg outputs of both, I would remind you of your own words "You don't quite understand how LoN builds work. Its best to use a skill with a high dmg multiplier and gear support." -Kamui1770.
Realistically though, I think all the builds linked on this thread with the exception of the one TrueColdkil posted which giving him the benefit of the doubt accidentally lacked a channel skill are fairly powerful in their own rights.
And I think you're absolutely right when you said "Play your way" as that's what likely will make the game more enjoyable in the long run. I want to thank you though for giving me insight to look into the Energy Twister, as its damage output is truly scary.
Greetings,

Obviously, in an actual usage the numbers will be lower as the build discusses the potential maximums. Thanks for the help.
You don't quite understand how LoN builds work.
Its best to use a skill with a high dmg multiplier and gear support.
Heres my modification on your build

I just did the test, you build still under performs. My version outperforms it by 581% dmg output

Energy Twister has bigger multiplier, ofc it will outperform Ray of Frost))
Seems like Light of Grace is a good sphere for this build.
But overall LoN wizard is too weak in any variation
http://www.d3planner.com/601210822 Fixed it. It still probably won't push GR 90 without massive paragon levels, but hey, it could be fun.
Also toyed about with this; http://www.d3planner.com/292791330 and http://www.d3planner.com/335470156

Uh, my bad - plan was swapping Force Weapon with Ray of Frost.
