I cant beleive how many people have complained that diablo 3 isnt dark enough.
Bull fucking crap.
Look from what i remember, you all wanted the same camera angle, which you got. You wanted next gen graphics, which you also got. And you wanted the same dark and gothic feel, without the cartoony feel, which in my opinion, you got. Yet its just not good enough is it?
Go and watch the gameplay video again. Look at the darkness, the lack of light, the statues and crumbling walls, the mist and fog and eerie lower depths of the dungeon. Its just like diablo 2 with a massive facelift. I for one couldnt be happier.
So we see outside. Oh no, its light outside! No shit. Oh no, bushes are green and not grey! No shit. What did you expect.
Somebody show me a comparison between diablo 3 and the "cartoony" blizzard games like warcraft 3 or WoW which actually looks the same. Any money says you cant do it.
Oh and they take a few ideas from WoW. Why is that a bad thing? WoW has over 10 million subscribers. They must be doing something right with that bloody game! Why not take a few things from it and adapt it into diablo 3?
Does anyone here at these forums actually think diablo 3 isnt dark enough? You actually think its too cartoony?
Let me know cos i want to find you and do stuff to you.
I COMPLETELY agree with you. I really don't understand what is so bad about contrast where some parts can be colorful and some parts that can be dark. It doesn't always feel good to just be in dark places. People are overreacting over color. Thus, Diablo isn't about how colorful or how uncolorful it is, it's about killing monsters/bosses, trading, and dueling others.
Personally, I do not really believe that the graphics would make or break a game. They would make a difference, but the will not make the game a bestseller. Take Titan Quest for example. Pretty good graphics (to me anyway) but after a while, my copy of the game is just collecting dust.
Diablo 2, on the other hand, does not exactly have ground-breaking graphics (by today's standards) but I'm still playing it after all these years. Why? Gameplay, storyline and fun classes. Of course you could add in a lot of other reasons such as loot and such but I'll not go into detail.
From what I saw from the gameplay video (which we have to remember represents a very small portion of the game), yes there is more colour. However, I don't see the problem. It was an outdoor scene, sometime in the day. Isn't that how the scene is supposed to appear? I have also read about the rainbow argument. Again, isn't a rainbow a naturally occuring phenomenon that can occur outdoors, regardless it whether there are people (or demons) gettting slaughtered. For example, during World War 2, I'm sure the mood was gloomy during the war. However, there must have been days of bright sunshine (and rainbows ). But that would not have changed the fact that a battle was going on.
I am sure that there will be gloomy aspects (in terms of the graphics which people seem to be arguing about) which would depend on the location within the game. We just have to wait for further development of the game.

Man all this crying about how the game is looking. Along with more crying on classes, items, interface, I hope they cancel the fucking game and decide not to make it. I couldn't be happier.
You really CAN'T be afraid of things like this, dude.
A great company (If Blizzard Is one, which I think they ARE) does not mind constructive criticsms like these!
Only, a Weak company would do what you said, and would be disrespectful in fans eyes!
If you got a Valid/righteous problem with the game, you NEED to speak honestly about it.
I would be Lying, if I said "Diablo 3 is Perfect, SO awesome, nothing wrong to me about it I LOVE every aspect", and I HATE lying!

Oh god, I would laugh so hard if they cancelled the game because of everybody bitching about how inperfect it is.
Personally I don't about the graphicsa they're fine to me, does it really matter if it's a little lighter in a dungeon. Just adjust your gamma/contrast.

Everyone seems to be forgetting...it wasnt the graphics that made d2. They were as bad as anadriels period. It was the classic hack n slash style, and the fucking awesome gameplay, combined with a perfect gameplay perspective (the camera angle). It was never about the graphics. The game didnt sell millions of copies cos of the graphics i can tell you that much.
Why are people still buying it today if the graphics in other games outdo it easily?
So, to diablo 3, why will the graphics make or break the game? They are fucking fine the way they are, oh and incase you didnt know, it aint fucking finished. As usual, another diablo game in the series will be a make or break based on the gameplay alone, not on the graphics.
By the way, all you cunts calling me a dickhead for saying next gen graphics...i was comparing diablo 2 to diablo 3. Yes we all know about crysis, yes i know its next gen graphics, yes i know you need a monster fucking video card just to play the game on high settings. Diablo 3 isnt next gen graphics, i know this, and it doesnt have to be, and just you wait til you get your socks rocked off your cocks by the gameplay alone.

Gamma/contast ain't gonna be good enough. That still does NOT take off/remove things that really doesn't belong in the game!!
It's certainly one of the things that Blizzard may need to adjust, but my Biggest problems there are also many things that just Ruins the Eerie atmosphere such as Rainbows, Bunnies, lushful trees.
What's the point in having those? You aren't supposed to have those in places of so much evil & death.
Don't get me wrong, on any happy day, I LOVE me some Rainbows, Bunnies, colorful trees, whatever colorful or peaceful but this is Diablo 3, Diablo should be dark, scary, not happy or peaceful.
Whoever designed these into the game either obviously influenced by WOW, or just have NO concept of common sense Symbolism.

PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

You are absolutely right Tyrael. Very wise sentiment. If only people would *change* out of this WarCraft funk, Diablo would be a much better game.
If you don't like the epic music turn it off in the settings, and turn your own music on.
If you don't like the current graphics.. well... DEAL WITH IT.
