Designers came out an experience of 5 years drawing only wcish and wowish things.... give them some time.
you're right.
That's the biggest problem; they imitate what they have always worked on.

"[Diablo1+2] obviously had the gothic look to it, but, you they weren't, they weren't very uh, very colorful games."
"We want to take dark as an emotion, rather than an actual color art choice." -Rob Pardo
"Why the hell shouldn't it be for 'kiddies', it's a goddamn game afterall." -lethlan
Why the hell does everything need to be compared to WoW? We get that everyone hates WoW. Nobody gives a shit about WoW, this is about Diablo 3.
Also, "Even a lot of the touch-up screenies just don't get it. Only one of them have, and it's the one that added in the light-radius. THAT IS EXACTLY IT. He gets it."
Signed the petition, I'm guessing that it has been posted also in the Diablo III official forums at battlenet, if not it needs to be there.
I'm hoping for a change really, while I saw all the videos and interviews hosted at gamespot they made it clear how they actually done all this changes on purpose, in one of the presentation there is a slide that reads "Don't be afraid of color" :(.

I meant to say that I hate the fact that every character is apparently able to illuminate himself. Why do people like that? It just doesn't make sense to me.
And this is called Diablo. A place where demons and rainbows apparently are best friends.
yeah, go play d2 don't be like some christian nut trying to convert people over and leave your opinion to yourself, nobody cares. d3 is better then fine and everything is made the way it is for a reason.. people are just ignorant and want to complain because they think they are the lead developer and they have a say in what they want it to look like.
go play diablo 2
and also, who's to say this is not how diablo is suppost to be no-one has played the game we've only seen a gameplay trailer. i mean god damn "it's too bright" well go outside for a change it's called the sun.

That is called self illumination, the more you have it the faster your computer can render the game. Of course, blizzard does not use it fully it is a mere technical question. The way light hits characters is the lest my worries for DIII

Diablo's got to have his pink dress. Without color he can't make a fashion statement, which is his job really: Is he not known as the Satin ? Lord of Fashion. Yellow is the new Black.
Seriously, all of this sounded to me like Blizzard was doing this on purpose from the beggining. But what would they get? I doubt it is a prank, because they're risking a major lot by staking their competence on the line there. It's all very confusing.
If they happen to make a claim that this was all a joke, I'll know for sure that it's not true. They would just be saving their skins and good name.
That's when I'll tell them: Fuck you! I haven't had a decent night's sleep these last few days dreading the rainbows, fuzzy bunnies and unicorns.
If by any chance there is some truth in this crazy theory of mine and they have been playing us for fools all along, all the while keeping grotesquity, blood and gore from me then know this Blizzard: you've lost your good name in one of your ' fans' .

lol it can still easily be a ranger since who said you cant shoot arrows at melee distance xD

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees
Is there anybody here with some graphics development background/knowledge that can tell me what blizzard could possibly change at this point considering Diablo 3's stage of development?
To put it simply, every character, object or land is made out of polygons that create an object. when you unfold that object you can apply various textures to the combined poligones that make it, in this case grass, earth, stone and more. In games like diable, the character and BG are kept to the lowest amount of polygons to maximize gameplay and performance capabilities. Retouching a textures should be fast, within a month, they could make a fully finished game look like something else.
He meant it as in: even if they do place a character light-radius in THIS version od Diablo it wouldn't mean shit, as it would still remain the same shit it was before: Utter shit!

Why would they think rainbows would be a good idea for a game like diablo 3? GTFO RAINBOW!
(Sorry if this was posted already, I didn't see it within the dozens of pages I've already looked at)
Also, "Even a lot of the touch-up screenies just don't get it. Only one of them have, and it's the one that added in the light-radius. THAT IS EXACTLY IT. He gets it."
If they add a light-radius... no.

No? Serious? No to the light-radius?
Lets have absolutely no lighting in the game.
(not by me though, wanted but wasn't fast enough)
Sentence of the year:
"WoW, It's like a disease"
haha. real life.
Unless it says "improve graphics", and that's not what it says, it only fits the needs of select people.
Lol?

So redoing a few polygons is out of the question?
