the d3 graphics would be set if theey were darker, had better textures, more jagged, mabey had some more realism, and better character design, Add all that with the great gameplay* passes out*
Lets see here, we have seen less than a percent of the game and we're already bitching. I also agree with the person above, wow, use of the color palette besides black, grey, and black grey. Fuck me silly, what an idea.
I think all they have to do is work on the textures. The graphics are fine, but the textures are bland and nothing like Diablo.
No, the main problem is the shadows. There is no longer atmospheric shadowing around your character in the environment ( remember light radius - that no longer exists because there is no longer that awesome shadow that looms over everything ). Also the characters have 0% shadow/shade. They are fully lit.
im doing my part so that the legions of retards that were born after 1989 might realise how graphics are icing on the cake, and not important enough to petition to the devs on how they need to change how it looks to please them. dont you understand the concept of respecting the artists decisions? do you realise the audacity of your requests?

You obviously weren't around when StarCraft was first demoed to the public. They changed the graphics to appease the community. And you're wrong, graphics are very important. We're talking style here, not pixel resolution.
You are right in one respect though, Blizzard's artists have decided on an art style, and I'm highly doubtful they'll change it at all.
I think that if the mood seems dark, then the colors don't really matter much to me. Though, I do prefer it to be more "horror" style graphics. Kind of creepy and scary lol. The way Diablo should always be.
Yeah, the cartoony-ness has to go. It looks way too much like Warcraft.

Zynalc: "I believe that most of the people have read some books or seen some films about santa. The typical figure of santa is not invincibley powerful but always very very fraudulent."
Just no, If you want dark go play Hellgate: London and its ugly design. Its the first act, first dungeon, first outside world. I'm sick of people posting these silly images... Let blizzard do what they do best.
that kind of comments huh? They have a design, I'm not saying it should stay the way it is. I'm sure they're going to listen and adjust accordingly, If you take an artist away from his own vision, it ruins the final outcome. I'm sure it's going to get a little darker.
I'm just really sick of seeing those SAME EXACT images in every thread on this forum.

An artist works for a community or client. It is the community or client that must be impressed. That is what decides the "outcome". How can you not be successful if you please the majority? Read the response in this thread, we are the majority.
Yeah, let's blindly trust Blizzard even when we see they're doing something wrong, do you know they're people like you and me? Oh wait, it's Blizzard, they came from the heavens and are perfect beings who know how to perfectly make everything.
Seriously, that kind of comments isnt really helpful.
It's not even that as much as the fact this is not the team who made the first two.
Our opinions do matter because it is our franchise just as much as theirs at this point. We aren't trying to stir up troubles. I'm sure most of the people who are looking for a darker look just want to make sure this game is the best it can be. That may be our opinion, yes, but we are entitled to it.
I'm not flaming you. If you think it looks fine, great!
D3 has been in development since like 2004, and after announcing the game finally...I seriously doubt they are goint to go back and redo every single bit of detail they have worked on so far.
also...when speaking of majority, realize that there are more people working on these games, then there are people posting...they have the majorty..and they chose how they wanted it.

I don't know what kind of artist you're talking about other than motel artists, but thats besides the point of this debate.
I'm just saying, no need to post these images on every topic possible. I'm glad theres a lone topic for it now (even if there are two of the exact same topics), and If i had Diablo3 now, the way it is I'd be insanely happy with the way it looks. I like the rainbow, yes, rainbows exist in the world. Has nothing to do with bunnies or fairies but the way the light hits mist.
I'm not telling anybody to ever blindly follow somebody. I just think a lot people are being a weeeee bit dramatic about it, not all people.

The textures for Diablo 2 seem more rich than Diablo 3's...

I'm a photographer, I get a request from a client and I change my work. We're the client and we request a change, same idea. Less flames.
Me: "Dude, I think you meant 'Satan.'"
