Hey guys, today I go over a G70+ Disintegrate/Energy Twister variant of Firebird's. I provide some playstyle insight while finishing G70, go over the build and the logic behind it, gearing strategy, some variations, gem choices, and more. I specifically avoid anything with Star Pact or Legacy of Nightmares as both will be nerfed in an upcoming patch, but I believe the rest of Firebird's will stay the same and Energy Twister with either Arcane Torrent or Disintegrate (both have pros and cons) will be the way to go. Enjoy & discuss!
Just a questions/request, i`ve been leveling from zero on PTR therefor lacking gear, maybe you or someone else could test some variations out that i`ve got in my mind.
Its a more melee oriented build requiring groupplay with the use of Wand of WoH and explosive blast over Familiar.
I would also swap Zei out for Bane of the Trapped for that specific build.
Its an alternative over the use of Meteor (Star pact) which would deal more overal damage if im not mistaken.
Is it worth to add an additional damaging spell over Twister, thus having less twisters up and therefor dealing less twister damage?
The same question would pop my mind with the use of the meteor boots +100% dmg increase, or +200% if less than x enemies, would this work out for solo play? Or again is the loss of Twister output just not worthwhile?
Also using devestator uses up a valueable slot on the cube.
Swapping it with Twisted sword opens a ring, armor or weapon/offhand slot with the potential usage of Furnace of CoE.
I`d like to test this, but as said, im lacking the gear.
I hope to have time to test a WoW variation. If nothing else, it could be a great speed farm build with LoN set. Star Pact is nerfed, so irrelevant. I agree about Devastator, but as I said in the video I didn't have an ancient Twisted Sword or Deathwish so I had to go with it for the time being. CoE doesn't really fit in, you really need toughness IMO and not using RoRG means you're giving up a another very strong item slot somewhere.
Mikhail, did you re-test this setup with the recent hotfix nerf (The damage of Firebird’s Finery has been reduced to 300% bonus damage when the infinite DoT has been applied to an elite. (11/24))? Is it still viable or should we rather look at combining the channeling spell + spender combo with something like TalRasha's?
Not yet, but a numerical (not mechanical) nerf doesn't change the playstyle. Goal of dev team is to get as close as possible on GR clears on PTR with every class/set/build.
