seems like they will get some lover base health. from 11350 to 10000 But they will gain 35% of the players life instead. so if you have 40k health then your dogs will have 24000 HP, in addition to that they will gain a 70% reduction from AoE attack. the translated word is a bit odd (antinociceptivthey
they will get a energy shield type damage reduction based of your armor and resist.
basicly (10000*(100%-armor%)*(100%-resist%)= max damage they are able to take in a single hit.
so they seem to be able to survive alot longer now. all WDs aboard the Vit train

Blizz specifically doesn't want pets to do damage in this game. So even though they buffed the HP which is great, the game is still about killing champs and your pets still aren't going to do any damage. I could see them being very useful against certain bosses maybe, but having more tanking based off your own HP isn't really that amazing overall.
The main question is how good the Gargantuan is going to be, because he's the pet that people would actually use for real, the dogs seem more like a novelty thing, unless they're buffing the defense amounts pets get as well. If the Gargantuan gets 35% life... that would be pretty sick.
well we where not ment to spam our secondary skills non stop, guess we are more in line with wizard and DH, on that aspect.
but if the new VQ change is true, it should be base to our primary spells, they can still cost mana, but they increase our mana regen by 30% when used, and vision quest should just be a 50% mana regen buff that is always active.

ZD will have a damage cap (like wiz's force armor) and this damage cap is proportional to your own damage mitigation. If things go right a offensive WD can summon and his summon will last a few punchs and pet oriented doctor will have virtually unkillable pets.
Also our base mana regen is going up to 45 per seconds. 150% increase, omfg it's half old vision quest free for everyone That and 2 hand buff will problably make my build actually playable past act2 !
seems i got the translated leaked stuff a bit wrong yestarday. anyway. the HP scaling was true. i dont really get how the damage shields is calculated.but as it is now i have 70% armor and 70% resists about 10000*0,3*03 = 900 damage as a max hit great. i also have 32000 HP so that means they will have ((32000/100*35)+10000)=21200 hp meaning they could take up to 23.5 damage from maximum hits. and this is not connsiddering that my life regeneration is 1100 + whatever base regen the pets will haev probably around 500 some.
this will make em close to immortal for a high Armor, All resist and HP build. meaning that i can focus some more on damage. and be able to cast heavy damage ability's from behind em.
just hope the gargantuan recives the same treatment, else its going to be crap in comparrinson

its viable to some extent already and with the innheritent life regen on pets i might be able to drop fierce loyality , prehaps even zombie hearder (tho i like 4 dogs instead of 3) in favor for PtV to boost damge.
it will also be alot easyer to cast high cost spell with the increased mana regen. so you can potentialy cast things like zombie charger and acid cloud behind your pets with ease.

Don't forget that BASE mana regeneration is up +125% ^^
Which hardly matters. Currently you can get over 250 mana/sec with VQ, Spiritual Attunement, and 36 regen gear, with the changes the most you can get is slightly over 100 mana/sec.

You can have 250 mana/sec for the trade off: 1 less passive, 4 skills constantly on CD ^^
I personally only use VQ cause bears work so well for farming Act 1, but I will be glad to get my old spec back never touching VQ again now that pets can tank, and I can take my time with packs, not being forced to nuke 'em or kite 'em.
Versus your solution for 1.0.4 of using all 3 passives, an extra active skill that you use to activate regen, and the slowest 2H to still not achieve 100% spamability. The current situation is not ideal but it is very easy to achieve enough mana regen to sustain it while the downside is having to keep your cd's down (which wouldn't be much of a problem with pets using 2 of those cd's after the patch) but the changes add a lot of new restraints without giving anywhere near the same level of regen.
i never wanted to play my WD as a glass cannon nor probably never will, i wanted the hide behind pets and attack with a multitude of DoT spells.
currently thats not really possible due to the low damage of DoTs and the high cost of acid cloud. compared to its damage, so when they are buffed along with my pets i will happily run with haunt, locus swarm and rain of toads/spirit barrage (depending if i can switch any of my current passives)
That's what I'm looking at, but I'm a bit unsure of some of the choices because we haven't seen numbers yet.
I'm thinking Roll the Bones or Ghost Bomb, all depending on how they work out.
I'd change up the Soul Harvest rune depending on any changes made to the ability and runes.
Leeching Beasts would be a reasonable rune if I wanted more survivability. Burning Dogs if I wanted AoE over single target from the dogs.
Grasp of the Dead... could probably become a lot of things. I'd considered throwing Locust Swarm there honestly. It will all depend on how much I actually use GotD, and I have a feeling that I probably won't be using it THAT much.
But, the one thing that strikes me is that I'm talking about.... options. This really isn't something that's been discussed since Beta. That alone excites me.
If you have low health and high mitigation along with the fierce loyalty passive with your life regen gear(and also dont forget the base regen the dogs are going to have) then the dogs will get their life back as soon as they lose them.So not immortal pets but enough to survive 30+ secods in higher acts so that now you have to wait less for respawning your dogs. Also the dogs now take reduced dmg from plague, molten, desecrator.
Blizzard says its promoting unused skills?? Well blizzard is demoting sacrifice cos who will want to sacrifice the awesome dogs now??

roll the bones is actually a great skill, the only down side of it ATM is that the cast animation is super slow, and that it cant go over walls, witch sucks.(cast speed is getting upped, hopefully it will go over walls if this is the case it will become a popular spell to use)
i would take locus swarm anyday over grasp might be cos im more tankish buildt but its just a great fire and forget. and when you can get back to focus on the mobs again they are in most cases dead already (white mobs while taking out some of the toughter whites) its also great when you happen to get alot of whites along with your rare/elite pull.
and using devouring swarm its pretty much a free skill if you attack more then 5 targets with it.

problem was mostly that they died before they got into place, with the buff they should get into place before dying. now the biggest problem is to get em back in a good manner. there are some optons BBW boogie man, and sacrifice next of kin and circle of life.
im hopping that sacrifice will be changed to some sort of buff skill that gives mana regen for one rune and resist and armor for another and that they last atleast 1 minute instead of the 30 seconds the damage buff is now. 2 minutes would be even greater. still wannt the black sludge thing and get dogs back rune tho.

might be a bit mana intense for longer fight but should do the trick. if not i will just use rain of toads.
im so looking forward to see what damage haunt and locus swarm will get.
