Hey guys, I am buying a ps3 and i think i have a good list of games that i would like for it so as far as ps3 games go im not to concerned with advice, but for ps2 mainly and somewhat psp (might get one), i was curious what games are outstanding that i must buy.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
Well, if you're in to JRPG's, Grandia III was pretty good in my opinion. That's PS2. And I guess if we're assuming FF's, then my list is considerably shorter Castlevania: Symphony of the Night- that's a good game for PS. Dunno. I just DLed FFVII from PSN yesterday, so I'm playing through that rather happily right now
As for PS3, are we only talking about exclusives? I like Little Big Planet a lot- I play it quite a bit. Most of the games I want I'm still waiting to be released, like Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII: Versus, Final Fantasy XIV (just announced- check Youtube- it's their new next-gen. MMORPG), God of War III, and a sklew of others. And, despite what many people say about it, I still love and play Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and can't wait for the next installment. And I haven't gotten the chance to go out and get Fallout III, but I keep hearing it was pretty good. You could check that out if you want. Folklore and Devil May Cry IV were pretty decent, I thought, as well.
If you're gonna get a PSP, get one of the Monster Hunter games, they were HUGE in asia, now they're starting to release them in North America.
I've only played one of them, it was a fairly new one, and my god did it ever kick ass.
Involves gathering items from slain monsters to make better equipment, armor and weapons.

Thanks for the help. Well i have always been a nintendo fan (but i sold my wii lol) because of their games like zelda, metroid, mario, and so forth. zelda being my second favorite series ever (diablo is first). So that may give you an idea of what i like. i just dont like sports games mainly (except for skateboard and snowboarding).
I watched E3 and am excited for heavy rain, GT5, god of war 3, uncharted 2, demons souls (sounds way better than fable IMO), the last guardian, FF:XIII and Versus (i know versus wasnt at E3), agent and all those great exclusives coming.
thing is i own a PC and if a game (especially a shooter) is on PC likely ill buy it for that.
oh and i have a freind that hates LBP and i cant tell if id like it or not. i know the floatyness of sackboy kinda annoys me lol.
wow that's pretty cool...i know a monster hunter game is comming to the wii. That one has interested me, although i no longer own a wii. being a hardcore gamer i think im opting for a ps3 right now and might buy a wii again later. opinions on this? lol.

Ah, well, I appreciate *cute* type games like LBP. Look at my sig. Lol. It might not be to your tastes. But it can be awesome in other regards- just browse the thousands of custom-made levels and you'd get what I mean
The rule I generally go with when I buy games, though, is: If you're unsure, don't buy it until you are. So I'd recommend just renting it to see if you like it.
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is great. One of the most beautiful looking games you can play right now. The action is solid and the story is a lot of fun. It's only about 10 hours long, so I suggest you rent it if you have that option. The sound design is incredible as well.
Ratchet & Clank: Future Tools of Destruction is... Rent if you like that type of game. It's a good one.
Grand Theft Auto IV is a buy. Pretty damn long, good story, great voice acting and if you get bored you can always go around killing random people in interesting ways.
Fallout 3 - Buy it.
Mirror's Edge - Uh... You'll probably hate it like everyone else. I love the game, but I can't recommend it.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Buggy as fuck. The A.I. is the most frustrating part of the game. Also It feels like 1/3 of the content was cut. I love the game for what it could have been, but it was released too early and it shows. If you're a hardcore Star Wars fan then buy it otherwise avoid it.
Metal Gear Solid 4 - Buy it.
Midnight Club Los Angeles - Solid gameplay. Good soundtrack. Open world. It's a great racing game if you like that old arcade style racing. If you want something more realistic then wait for Gran Turismo 5.
Resistance 1 - Kind of a borefest.
Sacred 2 - Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
Assassin's Creed - Meh. Another borefest.
Bioshock - A good rental or buy.
InFamous - Just picked it up. Can't say much about it right now.
There are a lot of games I haven't picked up yet, but I have played a lot and I think I can recommend:
Killzone 2 - If you like first person shooters then this is about as good as it gets on a console.
Resident Evil 5 - If you've got a friend to play co-op with then pick it up. Get Resident Evil 4 for the PS2 if you're playing alone.
The Orange Box - Pick it up for your computer if you can. If you can't run it then get it for the 360. If you don't have a 360 then get it for the PS3.
Some PS2 games... Silent Hill 2 & 3, Resident Evil 4, God of War 1 & 2, Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3.
I'm seconding skywalker on Ratchet & Clank games. They are seriously some of the funnest games I've ever played.

Do NOT pick up the Orange Box for PS3.
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
