At least read the first link, but the very short version is that they're going to make it a criminal rather than civil offense to stream unlicensed media. That means they can throw you in jail for it if that bill goes through, and they no longer need the original IP (intellectual property) holders to file charges against you for it, the government would be able to do that on its own.
In the article, the author gives good examples of the kind of content that this will affect, but really a very large portion of what's posted on the web has some bit of someone else's IP which means it's going to affect everyone to some degree (e.g. anyone besides Blizzard who posts a Diablo vid will be guilty of a criminal violation), so please spread the word & let other people know what's up.
Wow that's hectic, I personally believe it should really be up to the Copyright owner to choose whether to prosecute or not... and the <$150 000 infringement fine seems like a pretty decent deterrent, but does this money go to the copyright owner? If not maybe that's why there hasn't been much action against these "stream" sites. Perhaps educating people about what copyright is, etc. would go a lot further than this clearly unfair Bill.

Lets hope Australia doesn't follow suite!
Even if they did introduce the law here in Aussie I doubt its going to make a huge dent in people streaming, Just like torrent sites, one site closes another one opens.
Pretty silly law IMO, I do agree in educating in people in copyright laws and whats considered illegal.
