Still No ETA for "Ask the Devs" Round 3
The last "Ask the Devs" session was almost 2 months ago and a lot of questions have emerged in players' minds regarding itemization since then. And while it's a sure thing that there will be a third Q&A with Diablo III's developers, there's still no ETA for it.
It has been nearly 2 months since we got part 2 of this "Ask the developers" blog. It claimed "to be continued in part 3". Has there been indication as to when part 3 is coming out?
We don't have an exact date to offer you at this time, but we know that itemization is an extremely important topic to many players and we're still planning to do a third round of “Ask the Devs” focused on itemization.
Easy Way to Unlock All Cinematics
If you'd really like to re-watch D3's cinematics, but they seem to not be appearing in the Cinematic menu, there is actually an easy fix for this and Omrakos is kind enough to share it on the Official Forums.
I recently came back to D3 after several months away and while unable to play at certain times i booted up the Cinematic menu and i noticed that all Act transition cutscenes were gone. I am curious if Blizz removed players ability to watch them? PS And to be specific the cutscenes I'm refering to are Cain's Funeral, Leah's Dream, and Diablo assaulting Heaven.

If you edit the cutscene lines in your My Documents\Diablo III\D3Prefs.txt file to look like these:

More Co-op Improvements Being Discussed
Patch 1.0.8 brought us a huge amount of multiplayer implementations and improvements, but they are still on the table for further discussion and further planning.
Sometimes I joined into a public game to look for a Keywarden, but I don't know whether it has been killed or not. So should we add an icon to show if it's dead? And how about adding a status beside each player's icon to show how much Nephalem Valor they have got?
We’re glad that so many players have been enjoying the various multiplayer improvements we recently introduced in patch 1.0.8, but as with every improvement, we’re always striving to find ways we can do even better. Your feedback has been heard, and we’ll take it into consideration for future designs.
In general, we know that players sit down with an “intent” of the type of player experience they would like to get done. Whether it be key farming, elite killing, legendary hunting, or what-not, we want players to be able to queue and get into a game that lets them meet their specific goals as smoothly as possible. We definitely view it as an ideal to work towards going forward.
I know what I would want to ask about itemization, and that is how they plan to deal with the issue of the only "good" items being trifecta, or its garbage. IMO the root of the problem is CC and CD and how they scale exponentially. no other stats have a chance of being anywhere near as good as stacking those two. When every other stat scales linearly, they can't possibly be anywhere near as good, and if they buffed attack speed, or something else to be just as good as CC when you have high CD, then attack speed would be mandatory on items for them not to be crap. I'm expecting they will have to do some sort of buff to IAS(possibly), and implement DR on CC and CD.
What I'd like to see, is getting CC and CD under control so they aren't they only viable way to increase damage meaningfully, and most importantly, add some new affixes that are equally powerful. Something along the lines of...
% damage increase to crowd controlled targets(or break it down to burning / bleeding / poisoned / frozen / etc...individual increases could have higher numbers than the blanket all CC targets affix to balance it some and add some variety)
% duration increase to crowd control abilities(this would have synergy with the previous afix. allowing for a different sort of "trifecta" option for drops.
% IAS for X seconds after a critical hit
% increase to short-term buff durations
finally if they added some rules to loot, to make certain afixes mutually exclusive to help promote variety.
Trifecta items certainly work in the game right now as a way to scale damage, but as the only viable option, it makes gearing quite boring.
DH's WERE Buffed - Used Rapidfire recently? It deals like triple damage (And is now the most common Paragon DH attack, having replaced elemental arrow). Either use the piercing rune, or the bombardment rune (WAY higher damage with AoE, a bit harder to aim)
