Updates on Battle.net Balance
Along with an updated ToU (See below) Blizzard has posted a few articles dealing with the battle.net balance bringing us another step closer to being ready for Diablo 3. One is dealing with syncing PayPal with Battle.net and another on how to add funds to your battle.net account. It seems the support article for adding funds was removed, however with some googlefoo you can view it. Click the image below to read about PayPal syncing.
Battle.net Terms of Use Updated
If you happen to login to your Battle.net account on Battle.net, you will be greeted with this screen. On it, is the updated ToU that includes new information about the upcoming Battle.net Balance that we first saw not so long ago. Some information in it is still not fully up, such as E-Balance purchasing. Hopefully we will get an announcement on this very soon. (click the image below to view the full ToU on the EU site)
While the sarcasm is obvious, Humor (heheh) makes his point perfectly clear here. There will undoubtedly be some extra tuning necessary once millions of players are progressing through the whole game, rather than just beta. It's just not realistic to expect us not to touch any systems for balance purposes once the game is released.
Make no mistake about it. We'll follow our heart and soul when it comes to current and future development of this game. But player feedback is and always will be an important component of the Blizzard approach to design.
Then how come you guys ignored us when you introduced the Attack/Precision stats and we were SCREAMING at you to change it back?
... The game's not even out yet and we did change it back.

but it is! =P
Honestly we knew this would have to get done before release, everything just seems to be fitting together, the removal of the small things, finaly info on battle.net balance, Conference Call coming soon, who knows.

Yes, this is definitely good news indeed. I honestly feel an impending release date. They really seem to be rushing things to get it out the door. Rushing probably isn't the best word, but there is definitely a sense of urgency, FINALLY!
'we'? I loved the attack/precision system because it didn't set up class restrictions [and thus made the few class specific items more unique] and removed unnecessary messiness while gearing up. I was really sad when they reverted back to the generic [not saying that generic is inherently bad.] strength dex etc stats.

I like the new system better though. I like the idea of a weapon being good for a certain class but bad for another. I like that people can work on increasing the damage of their character while simultaneously increasing the class's core defensive attributes (they still need to tweak intelligence though, the health globes idea doesn't seem to be just there yet).
Personally, I think this was their plan all along. Say it was going to be released by December, Freak everyone out, delay, rewrite large portions of the game, act like it was all unplanned, have a spot during superbowl. Tears of joy are released throughout the world.
Video games are still a pretty narrow niche. The only people spending money on superbowl ads are cell phones, car makers, stock brokers, food products (pepsi, mcdonalds, etc), insurance, real estate, etc. Things that would appeal to as close to 100% of the audience as possible. Other than the several spots allocated for local businesses, be surprised if you see more than these people during the game.
Yeah the Super Bowl rumor is as silly as the Spike TV Awards rumor. Who comes up with this stuff?
I actually heard that Blizzard sent out 5 golden tickets inside fortune cookies and the person who finds one gets to know the release date a day early.
I don't know about you, but I'm really liking the frequency which they are keeping up with new pieces of information for minor importance issues.
I'm a software developer and we ever try to fix the big bugs first and then in a week we wipe out the lesser critical bugs so we can say the product is finished with 0 bugs. If they didn't expect to release the game shortly, they wouldn't give so much attention to this minor details such as ToU.
I think that when they announce the rune system the release announcement will be nigh, since the Beta can't test it anyway.
Edit: This may well be an indication of a possible release date announcement next week. Blizz will most likely tell battle.net users that they can download the digital D3 copy from the Blizz store with their Paypal account...
Since we allrdy know that the rune system won't be fully implemented into the beta there is no need to hold the announcement just because they didn't talk about this subject.
I think you can go so far as to say the rune system won't be implemented into the beta at all. I remember when beta first dropped they said no runes, simply because they dont even start dropping until either late act 1 or act 2, and beta will not go beyond the SK. Though we may get clarification on how runes / skills are being updated, that could happen before, after, or even both before and after giving a release date.

lawl. Troll?
The option was removed. They were probably just doing some testing and some crazy blizzard fanatic caught it whil it was up.
Are there 3 currencies for the auction house? D3 Gold, Battle.net currency, and real money?
Or are Battle.net currency, and real money combined? Can we withdraw funds from out battle.net currency?
So confused about all this shit...
I'm not trolling, I thought it was enabled now, but I guess I misread.
