First off, to unlock primals you need to solo GR70.
With that said, I believe I found the answer with my "Cursed Bones" build.
This goes out especially to new Diablo players. I see a lot of Necro players basically "stuck" under 70 with FOTM builds because it requires more paragon, optimization, and experience. The main problem with new players is that they die a lot due to lack of experience. Thus, they need a build with more sustainability - something less complex.
My build requires less "know-how" in terms of experience and offers lots of survivability.
There are various factors that affect new players when they're using Lance/LotD builds:
- Experience.
- Knowing the abilities of Elite bosses.
- Positioning.
- CDR awareness.
- Gear optimization.
- Corpse awareness.
All of these play a role in progression for new players and set them back until they gain knowledge of all of the above. I see some of the frustration for those who can't solo GR70 with a supposedly OP FOTM build which is due to the above. Some players really don't want to "think" that much. They just want to enjoy the game and unlock primals.
My build offers something straightforward:
- Apply curses and hack & slash.
- You will not die so often.
- You won't need to have 1k paragon.
- You won't need full ancients.
- You can solo GR70 with no ancients.
- You don't need as much experience.
- You don't need to be keep track of your CD's.
- Positioning is less complicated because you're basically tanking enemies.
This is just an option for those struggling to unlock GR70 primals. I think many players will find this build very effective in terms of unlocking primals faster than other builds.
