Is Uliana's worth using without the Lions Claw if you're NS? Kind of like Multi Shot DH was during S3? Still usable but not really that good? Just wondering if its worth grinding the gear for the build or if there is a descent alternative?
It's not useless, but to get the most out of the set you definitely need Lion's Claw + Fist of Az'Turrasq for your weapons. They'll basically double your damage output. Each.
I played Uliana's only until I found all the pieces of the build, and it was just fine. You really feel each upgrade because they each had so much damage and/or survival. Lion's Claw, Fist of Az'Turrasq, Focus & Restraint, Binding of the Lost, Gungdo Gear. And your cube passives, The Flow of Eternity and Broken Promises.
If you want to play the build, you're fine starting out with just Uliana's, but you'll need to aim for those pieces for it to work at higher rift/torment levels.
I cleared a GR50 with ancient Flow of Ethernity and Lions Claw cubed, within 8-9 minutes. I didn't get a Fist of Az yet in season, so with Az cubed and ancient Flow of Ethernity or the other way around (maybe Az + Uthar's Roar in non-season and FoE in cube) you could do 55 easily.
My Uliana parts are mediocre at best as are my F+R:

I guess you will have more success with a generator build and using Shenlongs.

Currently running ancient Lions' claw + Sledge Fist and FoE cubed running solo GR45's below 5 minutes each. Still getting the right gear.
