1- if i want to be a ranger (like the WoW hunter/ D2 bow amazon) am i suposed to pick warrior or thief?
2- if i download the game on pc #1 and create a character, then download the game on pc #2, will i be able to play on the character i created on pc #1?
thank you
You can play a Ranger thats like the WoW Hunter... iirc you can hire wardogs as companion.^^ Oh and you dont pick "Warrior" or "Thief" there are NO Classes in Skyrim. You can choose every skill you want. They are only categorized like that so that you get a general idea what Skill is for what "archtyp". For a Ranger you would probably pick things like Light Armor, Archery, One-Handed, Alchemy... something like that. What else you want is up to you (and even the 4 I posted arent set in stone ;)). Just think of the 18 Skills as one big pool... and you can choose whatever you want. (I would recommend to specialize in 5-6 Skills).
Hey guys, do you reckon it is viable to be a heavy armour thief? Does heavy armour effect thief gameplay at all?
Heavy armor makes more noise while sneaking. Thats how it was in the older TES games. So Light Armor was the better choice. But I think there is a Perk that helps with the noise? So its up to you I guess. (I would probably choose Light Armor... because it "feels" better for a Thief :))
The perk is under Sneak, labeled Muffled Movements "Noise from armor reduced 50%". This includes heavy & light armor types. Light seems like the more RP and obvious choice, but I'm gonna make a sneaky Khajiit boxer! With heavy armor I can pick up Fists Of Steel "Unarmed attacks do extra damage based on gauntlet armor rating" and crush skulls to powder with my bare paws.
Speaking of which, I have a question. Do unarmed attacks count as 1 handed or 2 handed... or neither?
You guys get so caught up in the details sometimes. It's the same reason I never follow D3 news anymore. It's just people nitpicking over the littlest things.
Yesss now you silly mages will have to learn how to use a lock pick! Until a mod is made. <_<
Give it a day
But no, I always felt the same way about that. While it's cool being able to zap a lock, it makes being a stealthy character almost pointless since if you can open high-quality locks with magic, you likely have other good spells, too. Know what I mean?
So, for role-playing purposes and stated above, I'm fine with it.
...But I'll probably get a mod for it at some point, anyway. Just because
Hey guys we're doing a contest over at www.skyrimforge.com giving away $15,000 worth of prizes to anyone who is interested in modding! The grandprize winner will get $3,000. If you're a mod maker you should check it out, or just keep an eye out there for some great mods.

If I had to guess 1 handed. It's pretty cool they added unarmed finishers.

Does that mean you have to have that specific bit/Hz setting and nothing higher? Just wanna clarify.
Also, is it possible to pre-load Skyrim on my Steam account if I'm gonna buy it at Wal-Mart at midnight?
Anyone have any idea how long installation takes?
