Hey, i was looking to get some old classical games on wii virtual console. And so far i got these:
Splatterhouse 1 and 2 - i mainly got it cuz i like that guy you play. he looks like jason from friday the 13th.
Castlevania 1,2,3 was gonna get super castlevania 4 an rondo of blood also but ran outta wii points.
Vigilante - funny kung fu fighter game, he kneels down an punches the bastards in the nuts. reminds me of that movie "cock puncher"
Secret of Mana - some rpg type game. never played yet.
Punch out - didnt this used to be mike tysons punch out? i dont think hes on this version. its now featurin "Mr. Dream" who ever that is.
I would of gotten the original games on snes, nes but i heard theres problems with the battery inside the cartridges dying on them an you lose your saves if the battery dies. But someone also told me you can change the batteries but it requires knowing how to solder an crap like that. i cant be hassled to do that.
I do have a n64, dreamcast, gameboy player for gamecube tho. and i rather have the original games on those.
Im looking to get a n64 game called: Mystical Ninja starring Goemon. Theres another goemon game on n64 an snes also.
Well, tell me about some of you old classical games you like.
Heres more crap im looking to get (oldstuff).
Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Super Metroid, 1942 - its an airplane shooting game. Super R-type (a space shooter type game)
all Contras (have that one for DS), Shinobis, Double dragons, ninja gaidens, x-men arcade, super punchout
excite bike, Super Ghosts n Ghouls, Ghosts n Goblins, Mega man games (still never played any of them)
and i just bought a game called: Sword of the Berserk - Guts Rage for dreamcast. i used to have it when i was a kid but never got far into it. oh also bought witcher part1.
Cant remember what other old type games i need. oh also some of the old marios an mario rpg.
I played some of those on an emulator, but emulators kind of sux shit tho. since they lag an the audios all messy an sometimes the game just freezes an such.
*edit.
oh ya, forgot to mention i already have all the zeldas already minus that ds one train tracks or whatever. got all the others tho.

The N64 Castlevania was fun, I think. That was years ago, though. Dreamcast: Armada (some fun co-op!), Skies of Arcadia (although the 'Cube port is much more friendly to people that detest random battles), Rayman in general
Link to the Past (SNES)--my favorite Zelda, followed by Ballad of the Windfish. Chrono Trigger (SNES)--a JRPG with some nice battle twists (for its time) and a decent, if somewhat confusing, storyline. Um... Hrm...
Diablo I?
Gauntlet for all your mindless shitty fantasy, instant action, co-op desires. Lots of fun with that with friends. I still play Dark Legacy on the Gamecube every now and then with friends, siblings. Good times. Pizza is a good compliment to a night of it.
Are we talking old PC games too then? I thought the focus of this thread was old console games. Cause I can go on forever listing all my favorite DOS games from my childhood.
yip, i played a link to the past an thought it was a good zelda game. But ocarania of time is still my favorite zelda so far. Maybe cuz it was my first zelda game an i played it alot way back in the nintendo 64 days. Link to the past is my 2nd fav. zelda, still gotta play twilight princess, windwaker and the rest. Well, i played these zeldas thro to the end so far:
Ocarania of time, link to the past, the DS one i cant remember what its called right now not the train tracks one. Also, played thro zelda1 and 2. Zelda 2 is alot different from the others all side scrolling. And its hard, well for me it was. I had to finish it on an emulator since i kept dieing on some parts and when you die you gotta start all the way from the beginning. But if you use an emulator you can save anywhere, so i just reloaded from the parts were i was having troubles an kept tryin till i past it.
also i meant post any classical old games forgot to mention pc, ps1 stuff. i have no clue of that really old shit tho like atari an such. Ive seen the angry video game nerd play lots of those that looked pretty crappy. Like i watched the one were he played texas chainsaw massacre on i think it was atari. and ehe. leatherfaces chainsaw looked like his wang spinning around. So go ahead tell us about some old shit from ancient times.
The only dos game i tried was Alone in the dark, i used a program called Dosbox to run it. Really didnt like all the hassles of just tryin to get it to run tho. And i hated the controlls on it. So i just watched an entire walkthro/lets play of it on utube instead.
Oh also i have these games callled Kings Quest collection, but there able to run on newer windows without that dosbox crap. I played thro the first kings quest game had to use a walkthro as some parts i had no idea of what the fuck i was suppost to do. But my fav. part was i was in a gingerbread hou8se sneakin up on an old witch. The idea was that im suppost to push the old dirty witch into her pot of stew an kill her. But she kept catchin me an then she would turn me into a gingerbread man an put me on her lawn outside. Then it says: "well, it looks like youve been turned into a gingerbread man. or maybe a graham cracker". ehe. cuz the guy you play on it is named Graham.
Oh and wingless, i started up Final Fantasy 7 also. Just made it to the part were you fight the shinra boss just with cloud. I'll play more of it later. So far ive beaten Final fantasys 1,2,3,4,5,6 an 4 and 6 are my favs so far. Im playin them in order.
Final Fantasies 2 - 7 (don't like any of the rest)
Chrono Trigger
Chrono Cross
Xenogears
Super Mario RPG, Legend of the Seven Stars
Secret of Mana
Seiken Densetsu 3 (basically Secret of Mana 3)
Secret of Evermore
Super Metroid
Zelda: A Link to the Past
Gradius 3
For years I've wondered what it is about me that's never cared at all about Super Mario Bros. and Zelda games.
I love the first Zelda game on the Nintendo. The one after that on the Super Nintendo was awful. What is Link anyway? Is he an elf? And like, what is his relation to Zelda? Are they copulating? So what's going on there?
Gradius was awesome and I loved the Mario games.
Spyro the Dragon
Crash Bandicoot
Anyone remember MediEvil?

Castlevania II is really irritating.
My favorite NES game is Bionic Commando.

Played this on the GameBoy! It's complexity and depth are still amazing me!
You sir deserve a +1 rep just for mentioning this!
I also really really liked a certain Kirby game on the NES (the title escapes me).
