Hey, do you guys keep all your video games that you buy?
Or sell/trade them off? I have a bunch of games, some of them im not sure if i want to sell them off or keep them.
Some games like Final Fantasy 7, i can sell it off an buy the downloadable version on psn for ps3 or psp. The psn version is alot cheaper then the ps1 version, some old ps1 games go for abit on ebay. And some games ive already played an beaten an im not sure if i will ever play them again. And some games arent worth selling since i'd only get a couple bux from them.
But im thinking of selling some of the old stuff that go for more money.
I know some of my buddies trade there games in at places like gamestop an i think they get ripped off quite abit from them scumbags. Sometimes gamestop has decent deals but most of the time i think there rip offs. I traded/sold some games to them before, i get more from ebay/amazon tho.
I'd love to get a writing gig like that. That or food critic. Seems hard to sell a used game these days. Especially with how popular renting continues to be. Even Redbox is gonna start having games for rent.
I always keep the games I buy. Most of them are on Steam, so I don't really have a choice. However, I'm also opposed to how the used game market works, and I don't want to contribute to it. Especially the aggressively promoted trade-in deals Gamestop and other similar stores offer, where they pocket all the money from the resale (often more than they get form new game sales, which is pretty messed up), and are basically screwing over both their customers and the developers, laughing all the way to the bank.
This, in turn, makes some publishers push the developers to hold back content from the initial release of the game for future DLC or the annoying DLC released within the first week. It makes the process of buying a full game more convoluted than it needs to be.
I rarely buy games and they are usually games that have a lot of replay-ability. There are a lot of free games that can fill the craving for me. Had a big itch for a FPS last year and ended up playing Crossfire with some guys from another forum I frequent.
It works for me. My budget is very low - even lower than my playtime - so I'm okay waiting for D3.

Wow. I didn't think of that until you just said it. I can't believe that I didn't clue in to that. If that is indeed the case, I'm not going to be buying my games second hand anymore considering that the prices are only about $5 - $10 cheaper anyway. I had no idea that the developer got ZERO from the resale like that. *bonk to head*
But in regards to the poll - I keep my games. But it is starting to take up a lot of room in the basement considering that I am still holding on to such things as my Atari 2600 and games.
Just like Warkun I have every last one of my games still today.
(I even have E.T. from my 2600! And we all know how bad of a game that is.)
My main issue is that if I go and trade or sell it, I'll end up wanting to play it 2.2 seconds after I get rid of it. I traded one once, and haven't gotten over it yet.
Im a businessman, I like money. Money gives me food on the table. I sell games I dont like or have finished, all except Diablo, Diablo 2 and Diablo 2 expansion.
You have to buy games to able to sell them, right?
yip, your right. unless you have great theivin skills you can probably just steal it.
and re-sell for booze money.
I always did have fantasys of ripping off places like wal-mart, best buy. Where i'd ask the lady to open the video gaming windowsliding case type thing. Then i'd punch that dirty whore square in the liver. The liver shot , maybe give that pork chop moma some sweet chin music.
But i rather not go to jail since it would be boring there.
and also some rich kids have rich mommas an pappys who when they need the lastest video game they can go cryin to there ma'ammy's for it.
Also, i was debating getting some old ps1 games off psn today, but i thought no thanks man. I much rather have the case an game discs. As i do like looking at my games on my shelves, rather then just some d/l that i never see. Some reason i feel cheated if i get a game off a download, i'd say to myself i could of d/led this horse shit for free in illegal ways.
<_<
I tend to keep even the crappier games I bought. You never know when you feel the urge to try them again. Very often found myself playing a game I bought many years ago without any real reason.

Tell me what you do with your games?
What did you do with the money after you sold your games?
One thing i'd probably do with my video game money is more booze!

I don't miss them a single bit. The only 360 game I still have is Halo Reach. Why keep games that you are sick of and will never play again?
If you buy the right games, and sell them back at the right time you can get 50%+ of you money back

Thats a fact.

I come back to anything and everything at any time. The few times I ever sold anything I regretted it, and I ended up buying it again.
I've LOST games, or left them behind, but that's another story.

Right now, I'm very careful with the games I buy, so most of them are kept for replayability.
