Man, googled this at the perfect fucking time.
Was checking up on the game to see if any new developments have come out, when BAM!!! COUNTDOWN PAGE!!!
Apparently in 17 hours, we'll be given our first in game look at the next elder scrolls game.
I for one, will probably start masturbating as soon as it's shown to us.
Thoughts on the footage coming once it's out, guess we can use this as a discussion thread as well.

Did you see the masturbation web comic they posted on facebook for tes5? Teh lulz. I share in your excitement. I googled it around 9 am today hoping to find something new and just ended up back at tamrielchronicles again. This is great news
(I didn't realize their facebook post actually meant a real counter when they posted that page- I thought they just meant, hey, here's some wallpaper, get excited for 11/11/11!)
I liked the idea behind it, but you really never gave a shit about it since the game was spent out murdering shit, not following the personal lives of the NPCs.

And I did that. Once. Cause I thought I had to for a quest involved spying on someone. Later I found out you could just wait 24 hours and report back to this guy, but I actually fucking followed someone around, in sneak mode and watched them for an entire day as they did the exact precise things they were programmed to do. I didn't see what was radiant about that. Maybe I don't even know what radiant means except and adjective for shininess.
And yea, they should definitely spend less time/resources on NPCs. As long as they look good when you zoom in on their face and dont stand in a corner the whole time it would be realistic enough for the majority of the people in the game. Moar combat plz.
They did a number of misguided things to make the NPCs more realistic and it was all just so wrong.
Remember how their face expression would change depending on their disposition toward you? But the setting wouldn't go into effect until after they said their greeting. So they might be all smiling like, "Greetings outlander!" Then immediately their face would drastically contort into this evil scowl with like a crooked mouth and squinty eyes cause they actually didn't like you after all.
Yet I remember the developers boasting about how cool their NPCs were cause they'd totally react to you depending on how they felt about you. But it all felt so mechanical and weird the way it worked.

Lol that was funny especially on the orc female face
Yea the light music towards the end kind of threw me off. I'm looking forward to seeing more about what looks like stealth kills. Or at least some guy slitting someone else's throat.
Getting this for PC, when Dovahkiin did the Dragonshout and the music started playing I got goosebumps all over my body. Freagin' Morrowind music, hell yeah!
The graphics are technically very good, still leaning on the shiny side however and showing no features that makes me want to see more. Then again, I have always found all Elder Scrolls game to have extremely unappealing worlds, visually and in term of "feeling", too. Its definitively true to that.
The music was a nice touch to the trailer. Its always a good strategy to awaken nostalgic feelings. Not that I have any when it comes to TES.
It looks awesome from a distance, no doubt. Wondering how it looks close up. If it's anything like the trailer, it should be just as awesome!
Elder Scrolls games almost always look awesome at first. I just hope they carefully learned the lessons of Oblivion. That even with all the fancy new graphics and stunning landscapes, this doesn't guarantee your game won't feel empty and sterile.

Mm hm. Although I still loved the way Morrowind looked. I know the graphics at the time couldn't quite do that world justice, but to me it certainly felt like a unique place unlike things I'd seen in dozens of other RPGs.
On things being shiny, that was my biggest gripe about Oblivion's look. Like everything glowed and had this soft lens look to it. Any source of light in the game just came in way to bright and everyone in the game glowed.
To the rest of you all saying how you'll definitely be getting this game on the PC, you don't have to rub it in you know.
Yes. I'm hoping the new kit is even more user-friendly and less buggy than TESIV's. I did a little modding for TESIV, but the updated kit didn't support voice-to-lips like the old one did and it never let me use its panoramic skies. Like, it was literally showing me that they didn't exist in the file structure, even though I was seeing them in game. Very stupid.
You basically just had to script everything to really get what you wanted.
