I've been meaning to make a thread for a while, but I just kept forgetting while I was playing the game Regardless...
As some of you know, I kind of love this game. It's a free-to-play MMO very similar to WoW with fresh content, challenges, items, and features coming in nearly every other month. Crafting, pets, mounts, guilds, guild castles, guild siege wars (still in beta, but fun, nevertheless), auction houses, tons of zones with refreshingly unique terrain, cities, dungeons, and instances. PvM and PvP servers. Cross-server guild wars. Of course, it still has its quirks, as every F2P game does. The entire game can be beaten without once opening the item shop though, of course, the things you can buy with diamonds, one of its three premium currencies, make day-to-day work much easier.
And, if you're interested or already playing, I run a news blog here incorporating not only what Frogster and Runewaker post on the official site, but also RoM's Facebook, other newsbits from exterior websites, and so on, as well as some regular musing/speculation posts and highlights on particularly awesome deals. It's basically the same deal as here on DiabloFans as far as news is concerned.
If you don't like the game, ranting isn't what this thread is for and, abusing my powers as I love to do, I will delete your posts
Questions/comments/etc. post here or contact me via MSN, xFire, in-game (details in my profile data).

Maggie
You can find any of this information on their website. The links in the left-hand column are very comprehensive. The game has a total of eight classes. Two of those classes, the Warden and the Druid, are specific to the Elves and cannot be played by Humans (and their counterparts, the Priest and the Knight, cannot likewise be played by the Elves). The classes are:
Warrior (stereotypical melee class)
Knight (stereotypical tank class)
Mage (stereotypical glass cannon class)
Priest (stereotypical healing/buffing class, although does work great with DPS in both PvM and PvP)
Scout (stereotypical ranger class)
Rogue (pointy-daggers, stealth, that kind of stuff)
Druid (hybrid Mage/Priest)
Warden (something similar to the Knight)
When you first start, you will choose one class. Elves start in the Valley of Preparation on the Elven Isle, which Humans cannot access. Humans start in the Pioneer Colony south of the city/village of Logar, although Elves can go there, as well. Once you reach level fifteen (which is usually when you're about done with the opening quest lines), you can go to the first major city in the north, Varanas, to choose your secondary class. Your secondary class is leveled independently of your primary class (the one you chose when you started), and in most cases there are other zones you can travel to to level it. The stats and non-class specific skills of your secondary class and primary class will benefit each other and help you achieve a unique build.
As the grinding continues, you will be able to learn special skills (elite skills) unique to your combination of primary and secondary. A Knight primary and Warrior secondary will not be able to learn the same elite skills as a Warrior primary and a Knight secondary. To learn these special skills, you will have to acquire progressively-harder-to-obtain items to donate to NPC's which will instruct you. The first of these skills can be learned when your classes both reach level 15, and then there is one at 20, 25, etc. There's another type of skills you can learn once you hit 55, I'm told, that are accessed a different way.
Every character gets a free house. To access your house, go to the House Maid in any major city or village. The first time you go, you will have to apply for a house which, if I remember correctly, is absolutely free. You will receive one storage chest to place in your house, and further furniture can be bought with gold, crafted (this used to be the case with carpentry over a year ago, I can't quite remember now), or bought from the in-game store with diamonds or rubies. You can also expand your house, change its style, etc.
We're on Osha (server)- if you want to play together, go there.
Character List Kobolox (Ullion)
Kardas
Astrith (Magistrate)
Scyberdragon (Scyberdragon)
Publar (DaWg)
I looked into this a little bit ago, but apparently not hard enough. Downloading, gonna play after I get bored with AoC. Looks cool so far, I like dual-classing games.

downloading right now. Can you give me some basic info to get started.
I'm not quite sure what information you want, so I hope this helps. You can find any of this information on their website. I'll add more later, I've got to go. I hope that helps.
I also play with Magistrate as well on here. Both him and I have completed the first three zones together and are working on the fourth and fifth. Him and I started up this about a month and a half ago, and we're both in the high 20's (He's 30/24 and I am 27/26). And to fix up what he said about the classes, the Scout is the typical ranger class. The rogue is more of a critical hit and attack speed class. Of coruse, some dual classing makes a lot of sense and should always be used when others should never be used at all. But maggie and I made a pact, where we wouldn't let the science of a game ruin the fun. So if you want to make something that makes no sense just cause' you want fun, then go ahead and do it.
If you want, Maggie and I can invite everyone into our guild (we have no restrictions, so long as you be nice to others)and no matter the level you can assist in seige wars. And if we win, you will jump from level 1 to level 10 or something crazy like that. And I may be underexaggerating that o.O
If you guys need to know anything specefic, feel free to post here and ask, or PM Maggie and/or myself and we'll be happy to help ^^
edit: metz, who is that in your avatar?

I will probably start a character tomorrow. Is there a particular server I need to choose. How do I add you guys as friends or find you in-game? Which charcter would be best for soloing in case I find myself playing alone?

You'll need to go to Osha server to play with all of us. BTW MAGGIE ADD THIS TO YOUR FIRST POST FOR ALL TO KNOW WE PLAY ON OSHA SERVER.
The friends list box is opened by pressing "o". Everything else should be able to easy to figure out from there. Chances are you'll be doing all quests on your own aside from bosses, which you NEED teammates for. So best thing to do is take whatever your heart desires. When in a group, we all make up for each other. ^^

Graphics aren't impressive, but they suffice for me. And RoM runs on my laptop, which says it doesn't meet the GPU requirements. Its choppy and laggy in some places (Logar and Silverspring are the worst I've had yet).
If any of you do join, my character name is "Kobolox" and Magistrate's name is "Astrith". Feel free to send us friend invites I can't guarantee I'll help with quests, but I'll gladly give in-game advice if I can. :)Most quests you can do by yourself, however ones that require you to kill bosses (any specefically named monster) will require a party.

Will this run on a netbook? Haha how big is the file and how are the graphics?
Requirements. I'm going out on a limb here and saying it won't run on a netbook. The graphics are a bit better than WoW's, but I'd say slightly worse than LoTRO's. /my opinion
30/26 Mage/Druid ATM. Leveling in Dragonfang Ridge. Had a siege war tonight and lost miserably.
How "friending" someone works: When you friend someone on your social list (press O in-game), it only adds that person to your list. It does not send an invitation of any kind to the other character. If you want to make sure someone knows you play, send him or her a letter in the mail, whisper (like Scyber was doing), or...post here
So I am now a level 14/1 Warden scout. I really just added the scout so I could use bows and play my warden like a hunter. Letting my pet tank and I heal him while fighting from a distance. I just got to the main city, which is slightly overwhelming right now.How do I level my second class to match up with my first? Do I need to choose it as my primary class and go back to the starting area?

Yeah you basically just make your Scout the Primary and start grinding or turning in quests for him..When people get rich they just buy the items for the daily quests and turn them in on their secondary for free/easy experience.

It originated in India, but it's not JRPG-tailored or anything like that. It's very WoW-ish.
