I bought that THQ pack you said a few weeks ago and I liked it. Red Faction one and Guerilla are two pretty cool games, and I'll probably move on to Dawn of War in a little while.
They do have an awful amount of deals, I like it. I have heard that Arkham Asylum is cool, and it has a MetaCritic score of 91.
Yeah, I considered buying the THQ pack, but I've got a bunch of games I still need to play.
Another deal I came across is Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics for $6 each. I've recently seen a bundle of those three selling for $20 at various stores, but it looks like this is a bit cheaper(though I don't know that the games will be updated for modern versions of windows).
Sniper Elite is $2.00 on steam right now. It looks like it's a WWII fps game(well 3rd person while running) centered almost exclusively around sniping(go figure :P).
I'm generally fond of sniping, so I might just pick this up.
Yeah, I've played a bit of it already and it's a lot of fun. Even on the lowest difficulty setting you can't do much of the typical fps rambo approach. I killed a few people that way and you can get a variety of machine guns, but sneaking around sniping is definitely the way to go.
One thing I really like is that in addition to the typical 3 or 4 difficulty settings, you can make a custom difficulty by selecting what aspects of the realistic sniping you want included(gravity, how long you can keep your lungs emptied, wind, etc.) and combine it with whatever AI difficulty you want.
I've only played a little of it, but I'm loving this game so far. The only drawback I see is the graphics aren't exactly cutting edge, but they still work very well. I'm not really that picky about graphics to begin with, but I don't think people that are will have their gameplay ruined by the slightly dated textures.
For $2, I strongly suggest this game. Honestly I think it'd even be worth the regular price tag of $10 no problem.
I've read the customizability in the review you posted. It sounds pretty awesome, from your description.
I've never been one to nag about graphics. I've played Half Life a few days back, and generally play older games to begin with. Only if it's a new game I might be unhappy if the graphics are old.
I'll buy it.
Also, I'd like to note that it is Sniper Elite Week Sale, which causes me to think that there'll be no other sales.

Cool, let me know if you like it as well or if you'd consider it a waste of other people's money/time.
Aliens vs Predator is 33% off. So it's currently $34. Its price may drop in stores sooner than others since it didn't get the best reviews, but for any die hard AVP fans, I think this is probably the best you'll see for at least several months.
Left 4 Dead 2 is available for 50% off until Thursday at 4 PM PDT! 49,99€ 24,99€
I've heard plenty of good things about this series. I don't know what the difference between one and two is though.
Hmm that is a nice deal. The Left 4 Dead games are a lot of fun but very short. The main difference between 1 and 2 is the setting and melee weapons from what I've seen(only played a demo of two). Two seems to be a minor improvement in gameplay and a bit of a step back in setting(zombies in broad day light in New Orleans? no thanks)
People were incredibly excited about it before it came out and seemed to have mixed opinions of it once they played it. It seems that the common complaints are that it is single player only and doesn't offer the replay value people hoped for.
For anyone that for some reason hasn't heard of it, Torchlight is an ARPG similar to the Diablo games with a more light hearted art direction. The company that made it composed partially by people that brought us the current Diablo games but are not working on D3. Also, there is a free level editor from what I understand along with a variety of mods.
I'm gonna get it. For $5, it looks pretty awesome. The normal $20 would be a bit of a stretch though.
Speaking of Boarderlands.... how is it? I don't know much (if anything at all save a masked guy evoking his persona [shamless Persona 3 plug]... AKA shooting himself in his head).

I haven't played it either but I've heard really mixed reactions. Some people have claimed it's the best FPS out there for various reasons and that because of the randomized guns it has incredible replay. Others have told me it was only fun for a few hours, felt monotonous and most of the guns felt like they were pretty much the same.

Heh, I've never heard of GoG, but I checked out their games.... most of which I've played at some point or another, but I couldn't find the one game I loved playing back in the day.... which was Hexen (I believe), and FPS with Magic and medieval weaponry (Something akin to an old-school Thief). I already own the games I'd get from them (Myst, Unreal, ect. ect.) But they definitely have the right attitude.

There is a huge sale at GoG... don't know what GoG is? pffff
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete, Disciples 2, Fallout, Beyond Good and Evil, Myst Masterpiece Edition... come on, you have to want some of those AT LEAST if not all
Thanks for the Heads up on this one, I am now the proud owner of Evil Genius!
First we have this weeks deal, which runs until April 22. Beat Hazard has been released and it starts off with a 25% sale. I don't know much about it, but it bears a lot of similarities with Audiosurf. The only difference is that you fight enemies instead of collecting blocks.
If you enjoyed Audiosurf and like Space Invaders type games, this is definitely for you. From 7 euros to 5.24.
But now the sweet one: Trine. I don't know if it's a sale or if they simply made it cheap, but instead of 20 euros it only costs 5.
Now, for 5 bucks this is an awesome game. It apparently is highly reminiscent of The Lost Vikings, since you control 3 different characters and have to traverse numerous dungeons to find your goal. There is the box-conjuring wizard, the bow-wielding thief and the sword-swinging knight.
I've been playing it for a while now and the puzzles range from moving objects around with the wizard, to dangerous jumping, to swinging around on your thief's grappling hook. There are also enemies ready to stop your progress.
Now I should add that the game is a side-scroller, but that doesn't take the fun away one bit.
There's a demo if You're not sure, but I truly advise you to play it if you like a puzzling adventure.
Steam has a great deal right now. They have a bundle with 2 Deus Ex games(Game of the year edition and Invisible War) and 3 Hitman games(Silent Assassin, Blood Money and Codename 47) all for about $17 or $5 each if you buy separately.
[...]
My brother loved Deus Ex, so if you're into FPS games with some RPG elements, I strongly suggest it.
I dug up this older post since it seems they are redoing old sales.
Deus Ex (GotY) and Invisible War for 2.50 euros each. 5 Euros for both of them.
Once again I recommend Deus Ex. A bit archaic, perhaps, but certain systems have been implemented pretty nicely. You can choose to go stealthy or guns a-blazin', and sometimes the game has multiple outcomes depending on your actions. I don't know much about Invisible War, but it's probably worth it.

Also, over at http://www.impulsedriven.com/ they have Dragon Age Origins 25% off. They also have Red Faction 1,2, and Gureilla bundled for $30.
Here's a deal ($15 bundle) on Deus Ex and Deus Ex Invisible War for anyone that missed the Steam deal earlier this week :
