FEAR 3... supposedly the final chapter in the FEAR series. The culmination of the plot.
FEAR is a horror // survival FPS. The series is known for its cutting-edge AI, and it's macabre setting, as well as the ability to "Slo-mo", being one of the first in the genre to utilize this functionality.
The series has been a "scare the pants off of you" game, complete with eerie soundtracks, and a seemless "Jump scare tactic" and psychological thriller integration.
If you haven't played either of them for the PC or 360, I highly recommend checking them out.

I always tend to scare away easily when it comes to console games for pc. I don't think my computer can handle them. I can play wow with almost full settings, could I play this?

FEAR is a horror // survival FPS. The series is known for its cutting-edge idiotic AI (There's almost no AI in FEAR. There are scripts. Know the difference), and it's macabre setting, as well as the stupid, stolen from Max Payne ability to "Slo-mo", and some of the worst and most boring level design in video game history.
The series has been a fail at "scare the pants off of you" game, complete with eerie soundtracks, and a seemless "Jump scare tactic" and psychological thriller integration, as well as moments where you just sit pointlessly and wait until some stupid sequence out of your control finishes and you can go shooting already.
Sorry, after that advertisie post, I had to.
FEAR1 would be an OK game if you could throw all the horror stuff out (never found what's so scary about weird Japanese girls and lots of blood. I think people forgot how to scare. You don't take away control from the player if you want to scare them... they feel safe if they're out of control. Lol.) and add color in it. It had great gameplay but the level design killed it. Outside of the occasional red office phone and hammer, the game is black and white with shades of other murky colors. The way the levels are designed is really ridiculous, as well. Everything looks so similar I got lost sometimes, thinking I've been where I weren't and vice versa, especially that level with those stupid invisible ninjas. It also manages physics in the weirdest way. Especially with the nailgun around lol.
And Slo-Mo is lame. I prefer not to use it. Fortunately, you can go through the game fine without it excluding a few parts on highest difficulty level...
I never really felt like finishing FEAR1, though, it was better as a multiplayer game, and I never got to FEAR2...
Sorry Equinox, but I have to disagree with you on most of the points, but agree with others.
Yes, there is no real "AI" in FEAR, just as there is no real AI in any game. The scripting, however, was considered Top Notch for its time (FEAR 1). (I do know the difference, I used the term "AI" in jargon coined by many developers.)
I did enjoy the surreal and macabre setting, as did many other people... all of which who thought the level design was good. I also enjoyed the two other games that were not developed by Monolith, but Sierra (the non-cannon sequels, Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate)
I honestly feel that your opinions of the game are only valid to you, as many people I've spoken to (and many reviews of the series) hailed it. (Gaining 7.9-8.9 out of 10 from multiple sites including Metacritic)
Either way, I really did enjoy the game. And F.E.A.R. 2 is only $20, so it's well worth the buy for a good many hours of grotesque fun.

I enjoyed FEAR 1 when it came out... I feel like the experience was unique and well worth it. Also enjoyed its expansion.
But I thought FEAR 2 sucked. Another company that makes a good game and makes me hate its sequel, because they don't seem to have any idea themselves whats good about their previous game and even less idea of how to push the game forward.
Not that it felt that horrible... but really it just bored the hell out of me so, so much that I could not play much of it at all. It also suffered heavily from "consolization".
I also remember being annoyed that the expansion was not "cannon" for FEAR 2.
So, FEAR 3. I'm expecting nothing more, why would anyone get excited over that game is beyond me.
Well, FEAR 2 was considered canon, it was just Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate (done by Sierra) was considered non-canon.
I have to admit though, I enjoyed the storyline of FEAR2, but it did seem a bit too linear... where often I would miss the "creepy thing" because I'm too busy looking at something else. Who knows, maybe they'll correct that in FEAR3... we'll see.

I enjoyed Fear 1 and I got scared with a few non scary moments but never got into all the paranormal-psychic girl thing. I really enjoyed the slow-mo option as much as I enjoyed the slow-mo option in max payne :). Fear is a game that you play once in your life but as far as replayability goes.... it's a dead end for me. Half life on the other hand! There's a game I never get tired to play!
I just saw that. I wasn't a fan of the live-action.... and the storyline seems to be interesting (Paxton is working with Pointman?). Where is Becket? I hope Mechs make it into the game.
I'm confused. It seems Day 1 Studios is doing this project. They did the port over to the 360 for FEAR1, and MechAssault // MechAssault II. I'm interested... but it seems to be dwindling until I can see something a bit more promising.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
