I'm eagerly awaiting Darkfall. I think it'll be a nice break away from typical MMORPGs, since they've taken away instances, classes, and leveling (everything is skill-based). My only hope is that it doesn't flop, because Darkfall has the potential to be something fantastic.
Of course, Diablo 3 and The Sims 3 are also on my list. Yay.
I'm awaiting Darkfall as well. But, I am really starting to worry if it's going to be that great or not. I mean, the features they have promised sound AWESOME. But I don't want it to be like Age of Conan. Age of Conan was fun for a little bit, but once you got to a certain level it kind of just... stopped. lol Plus, the fact that I'd have to play on EU servers until they release it in NA a couple months later would just suck.

That's also my fear. A lot of the features sound too good to be true, and I really don't want to get caught up in all the hype only to be disappointed when it finally is released. From the sounds of it, Darkfall sounds like the ideal MMO for me - no leveling/class systems, hopes for a solid user-based economy (I've always wanted to have my own store, haha), mounted combat with mounts that can actually be killed - a real roleplayer's paradise (yeah, sometimes I'm one of those types).
I read somewhere that the open beta started today. I'd love to get in on it, but I'll be watching it carefully regardless.
Another game I'd love to see released is a game called Winter. I read about it on a FARK thread the other day, and it seems like an interesting survival horror game for the Wii. The only problem is that a game like that probably won't ever see the light of day because the creators can't get a company to pick the game up. It's too bad; the Wii has some great potential, but Nintendo's really dropping the ball.
Diablo 3 (it wont be out this year)

Dirt 2
Dark Void
Brutal Legend
Bionic Commando
Street Fighter IV
Darksiders
Borderlands
Alan Wake
Dragon Age
Star Ocean IV
Chronicles of Riddick: Assault On Dark Athena
halo 3: ODST
Fear 2
That being said im sure half of these will suck...still thats alot of good games
Diablo 3 (if theres a god in heaven, we might see it? a demo? a beta? damn.)

and portal 2... lol.... damn puzzles.
At the risk of sounding like a troll, are people still seriously impressed with Final Fantasy? How can anyone not get bored of a franchise of 12 sequels?

I didnt actually get bored of the franchise....but the newer games just didnt do it for me like the old ones did on the nes and snes and psx. Regardless its a brand new story every entry in the series so I guess thats why it doesnt get boring for most people
1. Diablo 3!!!! no? well... I want it anyways
2. Starcraft 2: Wings o' Libertas
3. MONSTER HUNTER FREEDOM UNITE... mmmm... sorry for the caps, but I ain't changin' it now
4. Dragon Age, I guess. looks good.
5. Sacred 2... for the PS3. and it had better still have the Blind Guardian secret-level-type-deal.

There was even talk of french toast, but there was none to be had
Blizzard are suppose to still be doing there 1 expansion to WOW a year thing for another 3 years. So I guess the expansion built around the Emerald Dream/Nightmare.
And I still need to play Dawn of War II. But that Steam thing is a little annoying.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I hate to admit it, but aside from D3, Sims3 is the only game I'm waiting for. BTW, the release date has been delayed "in the interest of investing more time and effort to make the marketing campaign for the game more innovative." There was no mention at all of fixing bugs or making any changes to the game with the extra time. New release date: 02 June 2009. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/thesims3/news.html?sid=6204057&mode=news

But my list is:
1. Darkfall
2. Prototype
3. Left 4 Dead SDK (does that count? lol)
4. Starcraft 2
5. Halo Wars
6. Final Fantasty XIII (although according to this article: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/15/reuters-final-fantasy-xiii-coming-2009-to-japan-overseas-after/ it's coming to NA in 2010)
And that's really all I can think of off the top of my head. I didn't put Diablo 3 on there because I highly doubt it will be released this year.
