That is probably the only person i do not duel, mainly because his defense is soo great that he does not get affected by blows. I just decline his duel and kill all of his soldiers so there will be 50 soldiers of your team swinging away at him all at the same time while you powerup your mosou and keep special attacking him from behind.
Just to add in the other person i really enjoy playing in Dynasty Warriors 4 is probably Gang Ning...his special attack can leave any sqaud on their knees.

But then he would kill all the soldiers in one hack. That is the same with all of them, but then if you can power up your guy enough you can win. Even if you play on easy mode on the fifth dynasty warriors, he can kill you. When he uses his power-up and he strikes really fast and when you hit him, he can take the blows and there goes half of your life. I have a max ranked character that I made with the fourth weapon and maxed with the life, musou, attack, and defense items, and he can still kill me. The only thing that can kill me is the soldiers in chaos mode.

Even with a well-equipped character, Lu Bu can be a pain in the ass to fight. Things may be going in your favor for awhile, but as soon as Lu Bu's health drops and he goes into Musou Rage, you're mostly likely going to have a hell of a time fighting him. That's why you're often advised not to engage combat with him, unless you're going for items or a challenge.
A good chunk of the time I play Dynasty Warriors, I play 2-player with my boyfriend. Whenever we do The Battle of Hu Lao Gate (I think that's the stage he appears on, anyway), we always end up having to tag-team Lu Bu into submission. It's a little easier with a second person there, but I suppose the method is still the same; just try not to let him touch you or knock you down, and keep the Musou Attacks going (even better with a Coin).
Of course, we play on Hard Mode or Chaos Mode, so...I dunno.
I hate Chaos mode. Whenever I play, my character always dies. He has everything up, and he still dies. I just can not win. What kinds of items do you guys use frequently. Thanks Requiem for showing me that guide. I was trying to get the fire orb and was getting pissed. I killed 0ver 200 enemies in under two minutes, but it would never give me the orb. Until I read it and it said you had to be on the allied side.:D

Chaos Mode is terrible with certain characters when you're by yourself. For example, I would never willingly take Diao Chan into Chaos Mode, simply because her attacks are too slow with her fourth weapon (though she has decent Musou, but that's beside the point).
The character I use the most is Yue Ying, and I usually give her items that focus on attack and defense (I can't remember the specific names at the moment). I always give her Way of Musou, since her True Musou attack is pretty nice, along with the Fire Orb for some extra damage. Depending on the stage, and if I'm item-hunting or not, I'll put her on either Red Hare or Hex Mark; I never stay mounted for combat, though, since I don't like her mounted attacks. Also, I make sure she has a bodyguard with Heal, since you never know when something may go wrong.
How do you know which bodyguard would be able to heal you. I like the Way of Musou as well. With Guan Ping's, he goes around in a circle with fire engulfing the enemies, then he jumps up and slams his sword to the ground. It makes a big shockwave that goes the direction you are facing. It kills alot of the enemies as well.

If a bodyguard has Heal, it will show toward the bottom of that bodyguard's stat screen. If I remember correctly, if a bodyguard can learn Heal, they will learn it by level three or four.
If you really want some fun, give Yue Ying a huge Musou gauge, equip her with Way of Musou, and find the item that gives True Musou for 10-seconds. Find a large crowd near a base or enemy officer, and hold down that O-button. That's the reason we refer to her as "Meat Grinder" or "Spin Cycle."
Has anyone played Dynasty Warriors 6? I saw some gameplay videos, and I don't know if I want to try and get it now. It seems Koei made the female characters even more useless (Yue Ying and Sun Shang Xiang with bows? Seriously?), along with just being overall lazy with the game. If anyone could give me some personal insight, that'd be great.
I have played sixth dynasty warriors. it is okay but not better than the fifth one. They got lazy. Some of the officers have the same attacks. They just got lazy with this game. The graphics are good, but the gameplay kind of sucks.

I really had high hopes for that game after watching the previews and trailers, especially after seeing how they changed Lu Bu. I can't say I'm too surprised, though; most next-generation games just plain suck. Companies focus too much on eye-candy and not enough on the actual "meat" of the game.
They made Lu Bu the hardest character again, but yeah. They were lazy. I wish they did more to the game, but they did not. What is the worst character you played with?

The worst character I ever played is, without a doubt, Pang De. He was extremely dull and lacked any sort of style whatsoever. I think I played through his Musou Mode once, and that was it.
I had the same problem with Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi. I did like their characters, and their weapon styles were a nice change, but they were just boring.
Mine was that girl Sun Shang Shiang. I can't remember her name. I just thought she did not have any good attacks. Pang De also sucked for me. I don't like those Halberds.

Well sorry to go off general discussion with you 2, but I just wanted you guys/and girls to know that i have maxed out all Wei and Shu characters for Dynasty Warrior 4. Ever since i had this game, I have always been too busy maxing out my created characters. Well, all warriors in Wei and Shu have maxed out in level, health, defense, mosou, attack, weapon, and costumes...hooraay for me

It looks like you have no life Thasador.:D I could only max out the characters that I liked. The only Wei Character that I maxed out was Xiahou Dun. I loved his scimitar. It was very big when it was the fourth weapon. Anyway. What is your worst character you have ever played with, Thasador.

The only thing i do is repeatively play the yellow turban act. If you are good and able to kill all officers for yourself, you will get around 8000 exp points towards you character per map. Not to mention that you can find the +10 to mosou or life potions on every map in the yellow turban act. BTW i do have a life...that is why i wait until my family is nice and asleep around 10pm and I stay up until 3am (O_o)
