Today was a great day, I was able to finally, F***ING finally, take down the old EMC CX-340 Storage Area Network (SAN) once and for all! For 7 months I have been trying get all of our servers migrated off that damn thing, today was the red letter day! I got back two Brocrade 300 fiber channel switches and a slice of happiness with it.
Goodbye! I get two tower spaces back! WOO HOO!
Also today we added 5 enclosures to our new wicked fast Compellent Series 40 SAN bumping it up from 140TB space to 230TB of pooled storage space.
proletaria LOL! Yes the Internets along with the Google got better!
Graphics_I I'm a computer/network engineer, or at least have been for most of my IT career but in the last 2 years I got kicked upstairs into management or as I like to call it manglement. Officially now VP of IT systems and security, I don't personally care much for titles, I'm still trying to get comfortable with it, I'm more interested in focusing on the projects and making stuff happen.
I don't know why but I really like SANs, something about having a tower full of massive hard drive space is really cool.
I was watching Force's play through, I think I'll have to get that game. I was on the fence on the game, never played the series, but I'm convinced now it's good.
I looked at some Fallout 3 game play vids to see if I want to get it. Looks like the same gaming engine used in Skyrim, what is with the freezing time and zooming in on the enemy thing? That doesn't seem very realistic to me, is it optional or do you have to put up with that?
Graphics_I yes I have "NERD POWERS!" (lightning crackles in the distance)
Anyone who has seen my posts knows I hate the desert, but I try to make the best of living in this God forsaken wasteland. So I take my boy out into Hades so he and his friend can fire off their airsoft guns. I take photo's while hanging with his dad so I can feel like I'm doing something other than just sitting around waiting for them. My son's friend has a dog, I couldn't help but notice just how out of place this dog looked.
Maybe it's just me, but when I see a dog in the desert I think WTF is that poor dog doing out in the desert?
It was overcast today here, created some subtle interesting lighting against the mountains, at least I thought.
mmmmmmmmmm womens beach volleyball mmmmmmmm

Before/After
Not a bad day at all.
Congrats on the achievment!
I haven't got a clue what all that techy-speak meant, but I trust on some level you have improved my internets and therefor have my respect.

(And no, I had no part in this photo, but the view is not all that far from my cabin).
"to the worm in horseradish, the world is horseradish."
Diablo, I wish I could quit you! ~lol

"to the worm in horseradish, the world is horseradish."
