That was the first time I've ever heard of it. Cracked tends to make a HUGE deal out of tiny things to make an article, and they blow everything so out of proportion so the comments section is filled with "OMG WTF DUDE, SERIOUSLY?" nonesense. Retroviruses are viruses that reverse transcribe their own DNA into RNA and integrate it into the host cell's DNA. HIV is a retrovirus. I think what they're talking about are integrations passed on through generations, but I doubt they have that much of a significant effect, since mutations passed on thousands of years ago are more than likely rendered inactive due to the number of mutations they undergo which render them inactive and ineffective.
In short, when it comes to medical stuff, Cracked are like Wikipedia.
I would fucking thank you, but for this post I'll be a damn asshole and fill it up with the fucking cuss words that I said I would be doing... The hell with it, thank you; you son of a bitch.
Oh and just to be fucking clear, this is against all my bitchin morals.
Damn, I almost forgot shit.

endogenous viruses do make up some of our genome, and their effects are actually more helpful than harmful in most examples, like syncytial virus particles that seem to have an effect on our placenta.

lol @ taking anything at Cracked.com at face value. Of course they're going to completely misinterpret the information (on purpose, may I add) to get page views.

Ya, facebook is blowing up with it (no pun intended).
But really, whats the big deal? He did his damage already. If there was any other plan about to be set in motion, I highly doubt his death is going to thwart it. With his death, another will take his place.

Well deaths to his lieutenants had an impact on bombings in the area, so it would probably have a similar impact. But in the end, most people have no idea how Al Qaeda works, so its hard to say. I still like knowing he's finally dead.
Actually didn't watch the speech. Heard it was a explosion. I still wonder why the hell didn't he leave? He knew shit was going down there.
Oh I see it was in Pakistan. Hmm. Interesting.
I'll post what I said in a thread in the General Discussion forums here as well:
I dunno it sort of makes me sad to see people happy about this. A terrorist is dead, people applaud and cheer, but that's also what they did when they killed innocent people. It just seems like we're sort of lowering ourselves to a terrorists level when we applaud death.
CBS is reporting "Americans outside white house rejoice at news of Bin Laden death."
Sure it's over now, and justice has been done, I just don't feel like we should be this happy over death.
