Actually, it's still a stereotype even if it's true. Especially if it's true to be honest. Stereotypes by definition and origin are relatively accurate.

One that is spawned from the process of our brain. A stereotype is a function of the brain in how it files away information. We're bombarded with perceivable information every second and our brain has to try and efficiently file it away. One way to do that is stereotyping. Our brains see a characteristic of a certain person and notices other people that can be categorized similarly also share that trait or characteristic. Stereotypes would not exist if they were not true to some extent.

A good stereotype, all Jews are great at money related issues.
A bad stereotype, all black people committed a major theft in their lifetime.
I don't do stereotypes. I hate people who stereotype others for their own gains. I mean the one time in highschool I walked into a stored and some girl says "Oh look, a fucking hick." I turned around and walked out, but before I did, I said "Oh look, a snobby bitch." I was dressed for a casual formal dinner that night.

You do stereotype. Everyone does it. You can't not do it. It's just a function of the brain.

I don't stereotype. I don't judge people either. I don't have a right too. And I don't insult others.
You might not think you do, but you do.
And why exactly do you not have the right to judge people? I have the right to judge people. I do it all the time and nobody stops me. Therefore, I do have said right.

No you don't have the right to judge people. You can't sentence someone to death, you can't torture people, you can't call someone a douche bag when you don't know them or who they are, you can't talk shit about someone because of the shoes they wear or the way they walk. So therefore, no you do not have the right to judge people. Just because you do it all the time or others do it all the time doesn't make it a right for you to do so. Just because someone talks shit about some girl in school doesn't mean you can bash her too. Get what I'm saying?
And Donsro, I only said that for an example.

No. Your argument is circular.
And you need to define what a "right" is. Because where I come from a "right" to do something means you have the ability to do something without anyone else trying to stop you. Or at least, they shouldn't try to stop you.
A right can be defined many ways that include religious and political definitions.
And yes, I CAN call someone a douche bag even if I don't know them. I have a right to do that legally.

i dont like judging based on appearances either, but i cant deny that it happens almost automatically when i see someone. however, its pretty easy to suppress that thought unless its a 7 foot huge black guy with tats and a shirt that says "i kill asians."
what you do in that brief instant shouldnt be termed stereotyping though, more like generalising. although both terms have that same negative connotation
