In other news, how hard is it to get a home loan today? Well I may be putting 50% down on the house I want because the underwriters are uber fucking bean counting stupid morons who can't see an income stream if it hit them in the eye.
100 degrees (37.7 C) yesterday, I think we're going to need the air conditioner on from this point forward until fall now. waaa I was enjoying the nice balmy temps.
37.7.... CHILDS PLAY! During the latest summer I had 7 days in a row over 40 degrees and 6 heat waves. Suck it up!!!!!!!!!

I didn't know that mangas were so ingrained into mainstream society. I mean, I never saw thousands of people walking around with their One Piece mangas and their Fullmetal Alchemist mangas. The only literature my friends and I read is European literature a la Fyodor Dostoevsky and James Thomson.
I mean, you've probably never heard of them since, you know, you read your little mangas and sip your Ramune like it's so fun to be ingrained in mainstream culture.

And I really don't understand how not reading mangas would make someone a hipster. I didn't even say it to make myself seem cool. I mean, I am cool, but I don't consider myself cool for not doing anything. Like, what kind of person would I be then?

Well, that wasn't the point I was trying to make, but I guess so, maybe.
My point was that it's hard to know if something is mainstream or not if you don't see anybody doing it. Since I don't have cameras hooked up in everyone's houses, I can't know if they're reading mangas; the only way I would know if someone was reading a manga is if I saw them holding one in public (and that might not even be the case) or if they talk publicly about it. Since I don't encounter that on a frequent enough basis, I am on absolutely no grounds to determine whether mangas are mainstream or not.
Of course, basing the popularity of something in accordance to your exposure to it is definitely not the way you do that anyway, so why are we even talking about this?
And I never said I didn't like them; I haven't read one.
You see, I can't even make a simple statement without some dude coming and being, "oh, wow, aren't you fucking cool?"

Hmm... All I was saying is I'm not the type of person to sit around letting others know what I like in public. I don't sit at Starbucks reading books or working on a mac laptop, or writing some political blog in public.

Actually, I have a friend who reads mangas and he reads them all on his Kindle. It's pretty cool.
