I've been using Windows Vista for 4 years now, and it has treated me just fine, despite what you may think. My laptop has Windows 7, and I like that one as well. I've been using Windows since Windows 95 (I also messed around with 3.1 at some point) so I'm familiar enough with it that I can overcome the problems that appear sometimes. So yeah, I don't think Windows is as bad as some people claim it to be.
Like others, I've been using Windows my whole life. I have considered giving other OSs a try but the lack of familiarity gets me frustrated every time.
There are a few things I can complain about but I really do like W7.
I use Winblows 7 in order to keep with the times. But I can't stand a lot of the "features" that they offer admittingly. I found Windows XP out of all the releases to work best for me, but if the gaming market was to port to Linux/Unix - then I would jump there.
I know a buddy of mine that swears by the MAC (die-hard), but I just can't respect an O/S that created a 1 button mouse! (j/k)
You guys know you can run all your games through Ubuntu using Wine, right? (Might have to wait a little while when a new DirectX comes out for the guys who make Wine to update to the newest version, but it is very possible and plausible.)
i have a full touch keyboard and swype on my phone. swype sucks. too much manual word choosing and then its hard to abbreviate things. also it doesnt recognise a lot of the words i need to use
i love the battery life on a mac too, at 50% charge, i get 4+ hours of time. on my windows laptop, at 100% i get about 2-3 hours. and then after 3 months the battery poops out and its confined to a life of wall plugs. the trackpad on the new mac book pro's have a option where u can designate an area of the pad to be a right click, so that solves that problem.

i fare okay with my touchscreen, maybe because its huge tho
i dont understand how to delete things on a mac tho, like installers and such just disappear after i use them...i guess why they come with like 800 gb of memory lol...

I have a 3.1" Samsung Intercept, which has a slide out keyboard, so I am not worried about it. And my tablet is 10.1" so it is nearly a full keyboard, so again, not worried.
Oh, and for my Tablet, I am running TNT, based off Android 2.2.

well i have a 1000£ hp that had about 3 hours of life. yeah, its not so much the OS but the battery manufacturer, and apple happens to own in that aspect of portable computing. my macbook pro was given to me by my job so idk how much it is but im guessing ~2000$. it still doesnt excuse my battery going from 3 hours to 2 min of life in a span of 3 months <_<
it just seems that since apple is basically streamlined when it comes to hardware-OS it has less bugs and needs less of an upkeep than a windows system where there are separate drivers and components that just come together wrong or something.

Well, considering Linux owns Windows in stability, durability, Virus protection (Not Linux's fault for being free from many, many viruses, but I just thought I would put that there), and not being too hard for the general user to use, given the right form of Linux. (Ubuntu vs Redhat vs DSL vs etc)
The only thing that I have personally seen Windows own Linux on is the gaming, and that's simply because game companies understand that most people have Windows and most gamers have Windows because most game companies make their games for Windows. (Catch 22!)
I always suggest dual booting. The stability and ease of use of Linux with the gaming capability of Windows.
Another thing: A good way to keep the battery life from dying is not keeping it plugged in. The life will shrink, but not as fast.

I don't use Wine simply because I am lazy.
Edit:
If you use an old enough Windows, you DO use DOS. Lol!
