instead of postcount-boosting yourself, you could say something worth any meaning. i dont think n'orleans is the greatest city (imo) i think nurburg, germany is.

well first off, i'm sorry if i have offended you by saying that my birthplace is the best city in the country. you are entitled to your opinion and i can't say anything to contradict that because it is in fact an opinion. now i've never been to nurburg, germany, and i'm sure it's a wonderful city but i'm not sure if it's located in this country. wait... no i'm pretty sure it's in germany not the u.s... but symantics aside, i just want to let you know that i am not "post-count boosting" myself, because the amount of posts that i make means absolutely nothing to me because i don't care if people think that i'm a "noob" because i don't post on every thread mltiple times. anyways, i don't want to ruffle any feathers, but please don't argue with me on such an asinine topic as my favorite city, or how many times i post. thanks.

i second that. sorry, but aside being made by the french, sinking every year into the gulf of mexico, and having lots of bad people in the city, it still stinks. ive been there, and its not that much to talk about. i understand your love for the city because you were born there, but ive liked the raiders since i was born. and they suck. sometimes its ok to admit that where you live or grow up isnt the best.
i was born in Hanford California, and the first 13 years of my life were spent growing up in a small city called Huron. i would never go back there, and if i did it would be to burn the place. not because of how bad i dont like it, but because of how bad it was.
I just love the culture here. it's a unique place. And come on... we're the murder capital of the U.S. that's awesome. Naw, i'm joking about that. It's sort of scary, but i love the music, culture, and just atmosphere of this place. After hurricane katrina forced me to live in atlanta for months, i had a renewed love for the city. come to new orleans now, post katrina, and you will see how much pride everyone here has for n.o.

idk, ive heard alot about the people of post katrina new orleans. wasnt it deemed unsafe to host the super bowl there because of the dangers tourists and others would face?
nope. it's just because the downtown area is still pretty fucked. the arena bowl was hosted here just a couple of weeks ago. Not to mention the sugarbowl last year. it's just neither of those events draw nearly as much tourists as the superbowl does, and finding hotels for that many people is very very tough even today.

well, i certainly hope it gets back up and running, the city that is. and if your going to rebuild the city, it is suggested that you figure out a way of stopping it from sliding into the gulf.
true, but now its become a bigger deal. im not saying it would be easy, but it would be more necessary to do before you guys spend lots of time and money and only have a beauty of a renewed city drowning. it would be a second atlantis.
yeah, they have some programs in place, similar to the coastal erosion prevention systems in florida. coastal conservation however is slow in coming, but they have all kinds of weird shit that they do with old christmas trees and stuff. i don't know the exact logistics of what they do, but it has been slowing down the erosion over the past few years. key word however- slowing, not stopping.
