I've been reading through the forum for a few mins, and I've seen the word Noob, Newb, NOOBZ at least 50 times.
I was just wondering, since this trilogy has been around for a long time:
-Diablo I, 1996
-Diablo II, 1999
-Diablo II: LOD, 2001
-Diablo III: Estimate at December 2010
Most of the people have played this game from the beginning in 1996, or was it 97? Well, obviously, a game this big is going to get a few million more sales than D2 got, and we will see a bunch of people who have NEVER played any of the Diablo games.
I was wondering what would you call these people. Do you think the word noob will cut it? Lets see if you guys can come up with a word to call all those people who have no idea wtf they are doing. (We all know that feeling when we start a new game thats been around for a long time)
Try coming up with a new word that we (diablo fans) can call "noobs" other than "noobs". Maybe it would catch on if its catchy enough?

Yeah, I don't think this will cut it... Noob has a totally different meaning, if you ask me, at least. Also not to be confused with newb, which is what you seem to be referring to (person new to the game vs. person playing bad).
It's like with the Star Trek community, you have your fans who watched even the very first series, and then you have the guys who've only watched the 2009 movie. Both have the right to and call themselves fans. I ended up calling the latter neotrekkers.
But here I could see it backwards, old time players having a name (such as Slayers, or whatever was the term when you defeated the game in some difficulty level) rather than thew new players...
What we will have is hardcore fans and/or old timers, old school fans, vs just regular fans.
bish bish bish
derb derb derb derb
noob noob noob
bag bag bag bag
dewb dewb dewb dewb
bhok bhok bhok bhok bhok
The easiest to type (aside from my idea ;)) is Bish. Plus it does sound like a curse word. Bhok is tough to type cuz it's all on one hand, but I'm sure that will change. Plus being called bhok would definitely wound some egos. Bag rhymes with fag too though, so I unno. Now that I think about it, Dewb sounds too much like Dude. Kinda weak imo.
