And I forgot to add Global Metal in my post. I found it very interesting... It's a documentary on Metal around the world made by Canadians, I don't know if someone else saw it ^^
Man...! Gattaca is the one movie I have always wanted to see but only saw pieces of it now and then.
Yeah, it's a good movie. Uplifting and depressing at the same time...
And I bet you've never heard of K-Pax, either.
Seriously. Kevin Spacey plays in it.

I didn't particularly like Videodrome. I think it's overrated. What's with David Cronenberg and "the new flesh!" fetish, anyway? I liked better They Live although I do think Videodrome has more quality into it. I mean, I get the plot and everything, I just think it's... dull.
Most people don't get what Videodrome is about, devoted to, or based on. It has little to do with what They Live is about (which is like 1984), which has bits and pieces (as pretty much nearly every movie out there) of what's the main point and theme of Videodrome. You at least need to understand why Max Renn shot himself and what the New and Old Flesh represent, which are stages between levels. The man without electric light, the man with it, and all the changes that occurred. Cronenberg warps ideas somewhat when he directs, so, unfortunately, people concentrate too much on the warp and totally miss the point. I suggest watching it multiple times if you want to bother.
Things like O'Blivion living inside videotapes just fine and it not being significant that he's dead due to what technology permits. "Love comes in at the eye, the eye is the window of the soul." That's what Videodrome is really about. Warped interpretation of reality by humanity due to advancement in technology and how limited we are when it comes to how we may interpret and what it can do to us due to our lack of control in manipulating what we do not fully understand.
There's this movie with a dude that has a talking tongue. The movie also has a one-boobed woman. It's as fucking hilarious as one movie could ever get.
:DHaha, I quite enjoyed Kung Pow. I remember my brother and I saw it with y mom when it first came out in theaters.Having grown up on Troma movies and the very bad Gwar movies, the very low quality visuals and cheesey slapstick were hilarious to my brother and I but my mom just thought it was a huge pile. She isn't opposed to marital arts comedy stuff (really enjoyed Shaolin Soccer, etc.) but Kung Pow was a bit too slapstick for her.
Ah yes Gladiator now theres a good movie. Also just to add any movie with Anthony Hopkins is good (except beowulf that was just an abomination).

Actually I just got around to watching the new Star Trek yesterday. It was rather good. Aside from Next Generation, I've never really been a Star Trek fan so I guess the drastic change in feel for the series didn't really matter to me.

Singin in the Rain (a childhood favorite)

I'll be damned if I have to climb another tree. From now on the Squirrels and Birds can come to me.
Dead Snow is going to top your list once you see it
Norwegians fighting nazi zombies with chainsaws, sledgehammers and mounted machineguns.
With just a little gore...

LOL, I thought the movie was hilarious! I downloaded it when it was still norwegian and loved it ^_^. At the start it has that scary feel to it, then you get to the good part with the nazis and I laughed so much I had tears.
Great movie all in all, I recommend it
I was suprised to see the title come up in your thread at first cause dead snow is kind of "underground". Good job emil, I can see that you have great taste for movies

I can write an essay over here and I don't think I may. Videodrome is based off this book, or, rather, the guy who wrote it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Understanding_Media

Yeah, I really need to get around to this. My brother gave me a copy awhile back but I just haven't gotten to it for whatever reason.
