Yeah.. very true, Like I want us to land on the moon I really do.. I'm just not sure we have yet.. that's all.. Not trying to be a moron or anything lol.
Well... Honestly? Come on man... There's PHOTOS not only from the moon of earth and of people on the moon, there's photos of the landing site on the moon taken from earth. We have also bounced lasers off the mirrors that the astronauts set up there.
FOX News is not the "biggest" news source ever - nor would being so make them necessarily a reliable or credible source... which they are not. FOX News also reported this...
I find it odd that you haven't even provided a link or quote for this article or news report yet. As far as I know, all web sites for news companies have their up-to-the-minute news coverage on their websites, as well. So as far as I know, you're making this up, unless you can actually cite something.
but anyway, i don't agree with the views expressed on that program
i agree that we did land on the moon (based on overwhelming evidence) and also agree that fox has a pretty bad rep (esp after the obama coverage during the election)

If you want to arrange it
This world you can change it
If we could somehow make this
Christmas thing last
By helping a neighbor
Or even a stranger
And to know who needs help
You need only just ask
All (that I know of) of the points made by conspiracy theorists against the idea that humans landed on the moon have been rebutted and with most even being recreated in controlled environments.
What else do you need !?!?!
Take that mythbusters show for example and the thing they did on the moon landings. I was speaking to one person who said that the conspiracy theorists were never given a chance to respond to mythbusters. That unless the answer goes back and forward then its not a proper debate
And I'm thinking... 1) Every day is a chance for them... They have cameras... Get off you arse and make some footage. 2) What exactly would they say? They've been pwned.
If any of these people were 'respectable scientists' of the scientific community then their reputation will surely of been... pwned
To the op: Think about this for a moment. Space has no pressure. All they have to worry about is the entrance/exit heat of the atmosphere and radiation waves. You don't doubt we can take care of the heat, correct? And doctors protect themselves from radiation all the time right? So what is to lead you to believe that the moon landing was fake?

When diving underwater....there is a reason why water pressure is measured in PSI. Think of a square inch of water on your back and multiply that square inch by 2 miles of water on you and multiply that by the ounce of water of that square inch that was times by the 2 miles of water. and ya...if you were able to follow that, then you understand. I think it is the same as having a 2 mile long stack of papers on your head.
A better, and easier, way to think of it is to say there is an elephant balancing on one inch of your body. Each inch of your body has an elephant. Multiply that by 50. You get the picture.

After your Blizzard Application email april fools, I don't believe you.
It doesn't much matter if we landed or didn't, the people still had their money stolen from an endeavor that could have seen it better spent in other areas.
It's weird, tonight I was watching the news... And they were saying that they found proof that Apollo 11 never landed on the moon.. weird.. maybe 6hrs after I said anything.
I love how you say the news had proof, not evidence, but proof that the Apollo never landed. Wherever you watched this, did the show specifically say proof or was this your editing? Why stop there, why not call it a physical law?
I believe that is impossible to ever land on the moon, because the moon is only a fat dot in the sky, and long ago, the ancient egyptians photo-shopped a star in the sky and made it fat to look like a moon. Hence, proven. No moon, no landing.

Yes this is true, but exploration needs to start somewhere, and there it will always be costly to start. How about if the first ships were never created to explore the oceans and beyond because labour could've been better spent elsewhere?
I guess I just support scientific endeavours in that sense. It's usually for a better tomorrow, even though tomorrow is probably well out of our lifetimes.

I'm fairly positive that a central coercive agency is not required to create a boat, nor to explore with one. I'm not against exploration, just the means in which this particular topic had its support.
The whole moon thing is overrated, anyway. It was just done to cover up Gagarin's first man in space. Nobody ever talks about that guy. Always Americans and their moon. Just shows how "international" they really are.
When we get to 40 Eridani, I'll start paying attention. So far, from what I can see we are still stuck on planet Dirt 40 years later.
It's all a matter of perspective. And I don't just mean it depends on one's opinion. I'm saying you can look at the achievement as monument to what government could achieve, to what engineering could achieve, or to what merely funds can achieve. As we continue to celebrate the moon landing forty years later, I do actually think it's becoming overrated in a sense. Not because the feat at the time is any less impressive, but because today we really don't know what to do in space anymore. This uncertainty wouldn't be as bad if we had unlimited funds and resources to continue sending shuttles into space, adding to and repairing space stations, as well as having the political capital even to justify such ventures as an increasing amount of people wonder why they pay for these missions into space that aren't commercial operations.
Which is an amusing gripe to me because the actual portion of the budget that is spent on space programs is so miniscule compared to what our annual military budget is. Which brings me to the thing that I do feel the moon landing was worth. And that was just the contribution to our imaginations. Sure, the space program has stagnated greatly since then, but for many people it kept us wondering just what possible things humans could achieve in space. Now the value of this kind of contribution is definitely subjective. But my own assessment of the moon landing is that the contribution made just in inspiring people and making people feel like our efforts in space mattered was actually worth it. Even if today the space program's future and goals are uncertain. But a lot of people I think don't view the endeavor in that way. Today, people want more of a return on their investment for what goes on in space. It's not enough just to inspire people anymore, but more a question of how it benefits people.
I used to think it was more fair for people to ask how it benefits them until I really started considering the plenty of other things that government wastes its money on. And granted, it does seem awfully wasteful to send shuttles into space the way we do now. And I also believe that the best way to observe space right now is just to observe space from where we're at. Or at least in orbit from where we're at (even though to do that requires going to space and maintaining those devices). So if someone wanted to know when we were going to Mars, unfortunately at this time I wouldn't be able to find even the inspirational justification in that kind of a mission. I would want to argue that instead we really do need to focus more on what is practical about the space program for the time being and ascertaining what is viable and what is scrapable about it.
It doesn't much matter if we landed or didn't, the people still had their money stolen from an endeavor that could have seen it better spent in other areas.
I wouldn't say it was a wasted effort. Like they said, it had to start somewhere. Space exploration and testing has led to a good bit of new technology that we use every single day.
Why are we discussing this? We went to the moon. It was important. It was a big deal. People could talk about the first guy in space more, but they don't. It's a shame, but they don't.

All of that technology could have been developed without coercion and theft. Landing on the moon in and of itself is great, but the method for achieving the goal was and still is awful.
Coercion and theft? I must have missed that in my history books. The technology was developed from research in space or in development of technologies used in the space program.
