All this discussion of time travel and immortality and what-not brought me to a topic that's more realistic. Deja vu.
I seem to have it a lot ... two or three times a year ... which imo is a lot since only a few of my friends have it happen. There are several theories as to what it could be.
Happens to me a few times a year as well. The weirdest thing I've had is double deja vu - where I remember the event happening before and, that time, also realizing it was deja vu.
learned in a brain and behavior class that it's just an error in sensory processing and memory.
though it's a lot more fun to think that you're repeating your life, or past life intruding, or psychic powers etc

they'll never see me coming.. life is a sequence of tragedies, inconsistent only by fleeting, elusive moments of pleasure,
serving only to ensure absolute vulnerability to the pain of their inevitable absence.
Deja vu is a glitch in the Matrix. It happens when they change something
I had a Deja vu recently triggered by smell, the fire was on, someone was making toast and soup and it was a cold day (not winter yet, but it... smelt like winter)
Its an odd smell combo... I remember a few years back I had that strange smell combo for a while just before I had a cold so I went and ate a bunch of Vitamin C tablets

Dammit, you took my joke.
I've never really gone through Deja Vu. I have however, lived through moments..moments which I've dreamed about previously, in good detail.
When I was smaller I was sure it was because I was remembering things from my past life. It was only later I realized how depressing that was; to live the same life over and over again.

But I'd also like to hear some more far-fetched theories. It's no fun to just write it off as a brain error.
it could be you temporarily connectiong to you in a another Universe, however your memories would be slightly different (because you're in another world), where perhaps your other you had lived through the moment you are living through now, causing you to have a deja vu
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
Whats really weird is when you think you know whats gonna happen though.
no what's really weird is when what you expected happens

It happens to me probably one or two times a month...maybe my brain is full of errors?
One of the craziest ones happened a couple of months ago when I was sitting at my desk talking to my roommate. I started having Deja Vu, and I told him I was having it, and then said in a couple of seconds my phone here on the desk will vibrate.
Yeah that is weird. Well, some people do think it has to do with prophesy.
Also, here is something wikipedia said. I agree with this explanation. Although I've never recalled Deja vu making me recall a dream, now I know what to look for, although I shouldnt have had to look for it to recall a dream. Eh, this is still what I believe. And if I'm wrong, then its just a nuerological short circuit imo. Nonetheless...

Some believe deja vu is the memory of dreams. Though the majority of dreams are never remembered, a dreaming person can display activity in the areas of the brain that process long-term memory. It has been speculated that dreams read directly into long-term memory, bypassing short-term memory entirely. In this case, deja vu might be a memory of a forgotten dream with elements in common with the current waking experience. This may be similar to another phenomenon known as deja reve, or "already dreamed." However, later studies on mice indicate that long-term memories must be first established as short-term memories.
Kevin Heady suggested that a feeling of remembering occurs in a sense that he might realize that what he had dreamed is now a relevant present action that is taking place right here right now.
"I was once sitting down in the kitchen noticing that my plate seemed well too familiar, it seemed as if my head motions were foreseen, and that every move would trigger a continuation to happen or so, I had many deja vus as a child but this was extraordinary, I knew from the bottom of my heart that I had dreamed this situation years ago, as a little boy, that amazingly an entire piece of memory was regained and I finally understood when and where I was dreaming and how long this dream was, and most importantly how many years ago did I dream.-John Lennon"

Happens to me about the same amount.
Anyone else find there are varying degrees of Deja Vu? Sometimes I feel like I've experienced the moment before, and other times its like Ive experienced the moment many times before... Such a strange feeling...
I remember watching a video of prof. Daniel Dennett talking about how it might be your brain attempting to 'record' a memory and for whatever reason attempting to record the same one twice, producing a long term memory of something still in your short term... Perhaps if the error was repeating it would cause that many times before sensation, rather then just the usual once before feeling? Bleh, neurology is too complex...

And I certainly don't want to think of myself getting brain errors a couple times a year, lol.
